  1. @Jared & Doug & team… Next time you are in Pittsburgh, I'd love to help you guys out. I was a certified Interspiro/OTS SCBA and SCUBA technician for many years and my brother and I both have extensive backgrounds in EMS, SAR, and confined space rescue. Would love to come help out any way we can. We also know the city like the back of our hand. I actually organized a dive demonstration of the Aquacom system you guys use at a local rescue trade show. We sent our diver down near the Convention Center and he came up with a bicycle and a license plate after just going down in one spot for 10 minutes. That river is literally STREWN with cars because of the wharf parking getting flooded and sweeping dozens of cars into the river every 5 to 10 years or so. Good job finding Todd, I hope his familiy can find peace now.

  2. Rip. Compassionate & professional recovery. Doug is a natural born leader. So thoughtful & kind hearted while being very good working with LE and orher recovery professionals. Great teamwork.

  3. The amount of respect I have for that whole crew to make sure covering the victim with the tarp comes before just pulling him out

  4. I Find Doug a bit full on. Talks people into submission. I get that he needs to take control of the situation but seems like he’s trying to let everyone know who the expert is. The results they get are amazing but the victim and their families should alway be the first focus.

  5. "Thousands of people who won't have a clue what's going on", good luck with that. I strongly suspect that they would see police, divers and come to an accurate conclusion quite quickly. However it IS great that you would try to keep it private.

  6. I'm glad you helped bring him home and gave closure to his friends and family. If you're struggling with mental health, it gets better and there are so many options for you.

  7. Suicides is probably 50% of the recovery taking place , sorry to say but,,,,,most people don't give 2fuks about those who take there own lives,,, if I was a er doctor I'd rather help someone with ligit ingeries than a suicide. ….

  8. These stories really touch me. In 2003 I was sitting with a boyfriend at a ferry dock in the puget sound in the middle of the night. A car came speeding down the empty dock and into the water. We were the only people there. Had we not seen it the two men in that car go into the water, they would have stayed down there for who knows how long. We watched the recovery process and the car had drifted very far out. The speed involved just prior to the car hitting the water would indicate it was deliberate on behalf of the driver per the investigators. We were later told it was a mystery why those two men went into the water, or even how they knew eachother…which was very hard on their families. I felt the sheer helplessness of the first responders.

  9. I can see in their faces how stressful this job is on them. But they do it without complaint and always to the best of their abilities. This is a job that is worth doing no matter what. May God bless y’all and Mary keep you.

  10. Don't get emotional much but this took me there.Mainly because of the dedication hard work and huge 🥜🥜 it takes to dive on this scenario ✌️
