In this episode of Adventures with Purpose, we travel to the Grand Mesa Lodge located at over 10,600 feet in elevation to recover a snowcat 75′ deep that broke through the ice on the lake over a year ago.

The unfortunate side of this event is that two local guys passed away when the snowcat fell through the ice.

It is our mission to recovery the snowcat free of charge so that family, nor the Forest Service receives a bill for the snowcat recovery.

At the time the snowcat fell through the ice, it was February 2019 with over 30 inches of ice on the lake.

News clips about the accident.

While we may not have recovered the snowcat underwater on this trip, we will be returning in September with new custom heavy lift salvage recovery bags and bring this recovery to a close.

The Snowcat is a PistenBully 270DS early 1980s model.
