Had I only listened, I wouldn’t have been swept down the river, almost popping my scuba diving drysuit in the process. 💦😬

We never know what our next river treasure hunting adventure is going to find, especially when we go scuba diving underwater in the lakes, rivers, and waterfalls here in Oregon.

On this episode of Adventures with Purpose, we set out on another underwater scuba diving, treasure hunting adventure in the Deschutes River running through the Old Mill District and the heart of Bend, Oregon.

You know the old saying that you should always listen to your mother (or wife)?

Had I only listened to Kristin this time by not picking up any fishing lures, I wouldn’t have found myself in trouble and swept down the river while trying to untangle myself all while trying to avoid having my drysuit popped. 😰

Luckily, we were able to remove the fishing lure we found in the river and continued out dive without any problems.

It was really cool the old chain we found in the river. We’re thinking it was from the early 1900’s. (What’s your guess?)

We also found the run of the mill bottles and cans, along with clothes, dog toys, broken glass, hats, and more lost sunglasses.

We have personally pulled 3000+ pounds of garbage out of the lakes and rivers this year. … 〽️🙌🏼

At the end of the day, we feel amazing about our efforts with all the garbage we remove from the lakes and rivers in our attempt to help save the planet, the fish, and the animals. 🐟

A friend free dives and takes a milk jug with him when he dives put fishing hooks in it to keep them from hooking him . Think it may have holes punched in it but I know it has a lid

Started watching your vids about two months ago. I don’t know if anyone has ever suggested this in your comments as I don’t read them. I would like to make a suggestion…. if you ever do these types of diving again. Get your self a cleaned plastic peanut butter or mayonnaise jar and lid. Drill a few tiny holes in the bottom and sides, dill a hole big enough to attach a rope or eyebolt to the top hook a carabiner to the eyebolt and attach to yourself where easy to access then when you find small stuff like lures or bits of jewelry, put it in the jar.
