In this episode of Adventures with Purpose, we are truly humbled in meeting Christine Simmons to help her search for her husband Bill Simmons.

Just a few days later, they would have been celebrating their 24-year Anniversary.

Originally contacted by Christine a few months ago, we couldn’t dedicate time to make the trip from Oregon immediately.

Bill left his home early one morning around 1:30 am in June.

It is believed Bill drove their Gold Toyota Camry to the river.

Life had recently hit Bill with the 1-year anniversary of the passing of his mother, along with being forced into retirement due to medical conditions.

Bill Simmons was a proud man who loved his wife and granddaughter.

Day 1 searching resulted in the Adventures With Purpose team locating 17 vehicles underwater in the Cumberland River in Nashville, Tennesse.

Unfortunately, Day 1 of searching did not allow us to find and recover Bill.

Our search continues on Day 2.

This is a difficult time for his family and we’ll continue our search to bring Bill home.

Thank you to all the volunteers who came out in support of our search efforts by keeping us fed and helping with gear.

Hug the ones you love and reach out to those in need.

We are humbled and thankful for this opportunity and experience to help bring resolution for Christine and her family.

  1. Look. Ill tell you what i know about William Simmons, bill.
A colored, male is who put him in the river. The male was skinny, black male. Bill was put there ny this male subject with intention acts of not finding the body. Why the male did rhis i don't know, nor do i no who that male was. But from my knowledge there was drugs involved and why i just don't know. But i can't hold my silence. As well, other vehicles found were put in the same river by the same black male subject. All with the plan of them not being found very quickly ro allow evidence to diminish.

  2. Its sad that sometimes people go missing but they don't have any friends or family left anymore to report and it just stays there.. sometimes never to be found again like cars from the 50s or 60s that are probably just rusty rags at this point. And the body could have disintegrated enough to just float away…

  3. The scout you were giving away in this is the same model my father had most of my childhood. I hope who ever won that has as much fun with it as he did.

  4. This hits home for me because my dad lost a leg due to diabetes and other health problems and has thought about Sucide so many times but thankfully he hasn’t taken his life. He refuses to seek help. Hopefully me and my mom can convince him to get help at some point so he can get better soon.

  5. I feel like Sam wants to be Jared he's mad extra with shit it could be wrong if I'm wrong I'm wrong but I'm not the only one seeing this people feel like he would cut the throat of the business he always wants to be on camera always trying to touch people especially everything driver does he does very noticeable I like the kid with the beard he's all right but all in all I'm just talking shit what they do is great I wish I can do that

  6. isn't Bill just up river from there ? I know that the river flows to the left , from the boat ramp , just a little ways upstream he sits

  7. Good Morning ☀️ from the Dominican Republic… Sending lots of love to Bill’s family and everyone over at AWP today!!!

  8. I am not surprised that they found so many cars. Here in Nashville seems like car theft is the number 1 crime. So glad they did find Bill and his family has closure. My condolences to them. AWP awesome job as always👏👏

  9. Just started watching yall, HAD to become a member and support all you do.. have bin watching, and one question I have is do you take the plate, information off car and tell authorities where they are

  10. Every time I see the rescue of a loved one, I can tell you I'm crying! I couldn't never do this but we all have our calling. Mine was foster care and we had way over 200 babies in our home. I did mostly drug addicted babies so we did alot of emotion filled times! Our kids were taken in by family, taken in by realatives or adopted. We adopted 5 ourselves! We're too old to do this now but it was our mission, the same as these dive teams!!!

  11. Truly, I had no idea this existed until by chance I stumbled upon this! My gosh, I am in shock! I've binged watching since and now support Adventure with Purpose!

  12. When she said “i cant even get to the finances” that made it sink in what these families go through until you find their loved ones. Some cant release life insurances, or close back accounts or access money in their loved ones accounts. You bring closure in so many ways and enable these families to not on get answers but to at least in part move on wit their lives. Great work.

  13. I love this show but my heart goes out too the crew as I am sure that they have some post traumatic stress from this job….so us viewers need to give them all the emotional support they need…

  14. As a long term ER nurse, alot of the tears are wept out of me. But, this one brought the tears.
I can't imagine thinking I'm going to clean up our water ways by removing cars, and finding yourself giving this kind of news to families of the deceased.

  15. Was Bill suffering with pain? If so I understand and upset that people choose ending it to stop the suffering. Medical community needs to do more to reduce the suffering so more people do not choose suicide as their way to stop their suffering. Myself I have been hit by a car 3 separate times in my life (ages 7, 12 and 22) and undergone 26 surgeries. Pain never stops and have thought about it, but haven't. Want to fight to get doctors and our government to get off their butt and do all they can to give the person the best quality of life they can achieve. We all deserve to live.

  16. Jared and Sam what do you do to decompress afterwards? You are helping people at a very dark and sad time. That must have a huge impact on both of you. I do hope you are looking after you own mental well-being. Please take care. 🙏🏼💕💕🙏🏼

  17. Grew up about 20 mins away, we would go to lock 2 all the time! We were always told Old Hickory Lake is full of bodies, and cars (and even a town) so im excited to see yall got to explore part of the area!

  18. Really surprised at the wife — “I don’t think I’m gonna’ stay…” when the search begins. Then has her phone on do-not-disturb or on the phone/didn’t answer AWP’s call —- wtf?

I realize everyone handles stuff differently— but dang— she seems distant, completely disinterested…🤯🤔

  19. He isn’t dead, He did a tweet on Twitter 5 hours ago on the winning games. It’s just his car that there tryna find
