I dropped my GoPro from 3000′ feet and may have lost it forever. Still succeeded at flying high on my paramotor to eat McDonalds Egg McMuffin breakfast sandwich.

It’s always an adventure when you pull out the powered paraglider, but even more when you give yourself a mission with a purpose.
On this episode of “Adventures with Purpose”, our team set out to fly the powered paramotor with the mission of using helium balloons to launch, catch and eat a McDonalds Egg McMuffin breakfast sandwich.
Little did we know the number of balloons it would take to lift a GoPro and a breakfast sandwich.
As such, we had to ditch the idea of flying the GoPro under the helium balloons and launch the sandwich by itself.
We did get an added bonus of testing out a new chase camera by putting the GoPro into a Rocket. 🚀
Unfortunately, we think we’ve lost the GoPro forever after dropping it from 3000′ feet from the paramotor.
Crazy and fun shenanigans on this paramotor adventure with plenty of laughs along the way.

WANT TO LEARN HOW TO FLY PARAMOTORS?
First, a word of caution.
Flying powered paragliders over water, trees or into backcountry can be dangerous.
Here is the quick rundown and I hope the following info helps.
Paramotor Training…
Don’t try learning on your own from watching a few videos.
Don’t do a half day, 1 day or 3-day training.
Real training is a good 6-10 days and usually runs $1500 to $2500 for lodging, training, and use of instructor equipment.
If you find a Paragliding Instructor who will have you flying after the first day, run away. You should be on the ground for the first 3-5 days learning nothing but glider control.
Only after you can control your wing with your eyes closed, then and only then should you add a motor.

As for paramotoring equipment, I’m happy to share what I fly and why.
Like any sport, you have options.
There is cheap equipment, equipment that lacks safety and higher end Cadillac equipment.
What is your skill level?
Are you a newbie or have you been in the sport a while?
Currently, I’m flying the Scout Paramotor with the Vittorazi Moster 185 engine and a U-Turn Progress 24m Paraglider Wing.
How Much Does a Paramotor Cost?
For what I fly, you can get into the sport on a good used setup for $7k-9k or $12k-$13k new which includes your motor, wing, and reserve.
Really, you can’t beat that price for personal flight.
Best thing is it all packs up as small and fits in the trunk of your car if needed.
