A police chief tried to stop the drug war—then they came for him

In this episode of the Police Accountability Report, we tell the story of Kelvin Sewell, the first Black police chief of Pocomoke City, a small town on Maryland’s Lower Eastern Shore. When Sewell tried to fight back against a notorious drug unit that was raiding his town and wreaking havoc in the Black community, both he and the people he served faced devastating consequences.

  1. With the help of people like Taya, I have been awakened to the awful state of this country over the past few years. Waking up to the fact that pretty much everything you have been told and believed over your entire life is a lie is a hard truth to wake up to. But it is necessary to wake up.

  2. Never know when you're going to have to shoot a citizen 57 times. This over taking donations for bond from illegal arrest only in AMERIKA! Anyone else surprised ? You will be arrested for this opinion by the way…oh SHIT!

  3. I totally believe this story because not only is that lockem up mentality a big cash earner . It's also a law-and-order mindset. A misguided mindset . For sure But it's always been like that. If you can give them some one hire up the food chain you will get some consideration. Most of them don't care if it's the truth or a lie. They need to treat the street level people more like patient's. Less like criminals. Society would save a lot of money.

  4. The problem is, there are always those people who have no integrity, no virtue, and do everything that rewards and benefits them personally. They will corrupt anyone and everyone they can through coercio . When those arrested have more inteligence and integrity than hired or elected officilas,…there's a huge problem. How many cops with integrity left the force after being confronted by the monster of pathological corruption in their respective PD's, and elected officials offices?

  5. Military Officers are the only ones who need to commit the bribes of the Union lawyers . To repeatedly get bribed again, and again by the World Bank ! Why would we ever look anywhere else for a guilty party ? Instead of using the rule of the law ,and the word of the law, concerning that type of bribery !

  6. I can’t get over how pretty you look without all the red….makes it so I can actually see your intellect

  7. All the states to legalize pot so leave it alone I don't care what you do with the rest do something about instead of putting it back on the streets and I know a bunch of cops do that so I that's not cops pigs

  8. I hope you're good cop that's all I got to say but just do your job the right way don't be a dirty cop cuz I don't blame people coming for you just be a cop not a pig 🐖

  9. See now that’s the difference. She is a hero, and the other heroes will be the people who stand up and fight back take up arms against these people. These liars received these people who are keeping us down, stepping on our throats, killing our children, burning down our houses, doing everything they can do to kill us silence us when we stand up and fight back I hope the American people the ones on the jury that find us not guilty for taking our country back. Sit up and say yes you were right yes you are a hero. Yes, I am glad to see that someone had the balls to put these motherfuckers in their places.
