Honda Pilot Transmission Replacement

This video is (part 3) of a series where I completely rebuild a 2003 Honda Pilot to prepare it for a supercharger installation. In this episode I remove the engine and transmission from the subframe before cleaning and reconditioning it. I also show power steering rack removal and replace the outer tie rods.

Also, I show several methods for removing rusted and broken fasteners.

I hope you find the information useful and entertaining.

  1. Hey Eric! I have rhe cylinders off my 3.5 and everythimg out of the way, it looks easy to just pull the block, can i access all the trans bolts and torque convertor bolts while its in the engine bay or are the evem torque bolts? Looks like splines??

  2. hi) I'm watching your channel and I like the Honda pilot)) I also have a pilot in 2003) please tell me, do the owners of the Honda pilot in the USA do maintenance of the automatic transmission according to the regulations by disassembling it, changing all filters and rubber bands? or do they still drive until the last one until the automatic transmission dies? if there is a full automatic transmission service, then at what mileage does this happen? according to the regulations 200,000 km, (125,000 miles) and after that you need to change everything in the automatic transmission with analysis) I'm just curious) I received a contract automatic transmission from the USA with a mileage of 206,000 miles, so I do not know if they did it or not) please tell me

  3. Hell of a job, I think I've seen it before, but I'm replacing a PS pressure hose on an 07 pilot and ehh why not watch it again.

  4. I heard you say you were replacing 2-3 of these transmission a day? Good lord I am a fairly new technician still and hearing that blew my mind. I’ve watched you for a few years now and I just praise your work. Any advice for me from you just in general?
Thanks a million for what you do, I aspire to be such a great technician and have leaned so much from you.

  5. Hey, having worked on a couple honda automatic transaxle transmissions, all failed basically due to a clogged filter on pump suction ..has anyone modified these for a dry sump system with external filter? I think these transmissions could go forever …having a acessable filter goes a long way, unfortunately these transmissions incorporate internal filters….

  6. Question regarding the transmission my wife has an 06 Honda pilot it has hard shifting in stop-and-go traffic I've already replaced the shift solenoid transmission fluid is good has about 175,000 on it right now any suggestions on what's going on it does sticking in gears sometimes and other times it bangs

  7. Great Video! I have a 2018 pilot elite with 9 speed trans. Do you know where the trans fluid pressure sensor switch is on these? It was shifting fine then stopped. Thank you

  8. I'm absolutely loving this series of videos, they gave me so much insight on my pilot from temp sensor, speed sensor, motor mounts, thermostat housing, EVERYTHING!!! Thank You Soo Much ETCG!!… God Speed Sir!!!🙌🏼🥇
