On January 27, 2022, Dunwoody police officers responded to a call from McDonald’s in Dunwoody, Georgia regarding a disruptive customer. The manager explained that the suspect, who had been involved in similar incidents in the past, had stopped at the drive-through window and demanded food that he claimed to have ordered. Recognizing his pattern of behavior, the employees and manager decided to avoid escalating the situation and gave him free food on previous occasions.
However, this time, the manager decided to take a stand and refused to provide the suspect with free food. Enraged, the suspect parked his car and stormed into the store, shouting and causing a commotion. In a fit of anger, he even overturned trays with salt and pepper before quickly leaving the premises.
Quick-thinking employees managed to capture the suspect’s license plate and provided it to the responding officer. Using this information, the officer was able to identify the suspect and confirm his identity through photographs shown to the manager and employees. Additionally, surveillance footage from inside the restaurant captured the disruptive behavior, further corroborating their accounts.
Assisting officers were dispatched to the suspect’s residence, where they detained him for questioning. During the interview, the suspect admitted to the conflict at McDonald’s, claiming that his card wasn’t working and alleging that the staff had been rude to him, refusing to accept his money.
Upon returning to McDonald’s, the suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct for his disruptive actions.
