On December 12, 2022, a Brookhaven Police Officer was on routine patrol when he observed a vehicle drive on the wrong side of the road for a short distance and made a turn. The officer slowed down and initiated a traffic stop. The driver didn’t speak English. While talking with the driver, an officer noticed his glossy eyes and slurred speech. He asked him to step out of the vehicle for further evaluation. He was charged with d u i, possession of an open container, driving without a valid license, obstruction, vehicle to drive on the wrong side of the road, use of multiple-beam road lighting equipment.
