There is an easy solution to this: reasonable Republicans should just temporarily ally with the Dems on matters of common ground (e.g. the support to Ukraine) to isolated and neuter the handful of right wing nuts until the get elected out. But unfortunately all the Republicans representatives left are too cowardly and are just like Matt Gaetz: they will look at their own interest and fundraising rather than the interest of the country or even their party.
This sounds like it signals that many in the Republican are sick and tired of RINOs and want leadership with true conservative values. This idea that McCarthy was “willing” to reach across to get things done is baloney it emphasizes that he backstabs conservatism to help liberals pass their bloated agenda.
A line has got to be drawn somewhere and Gaetz was the one with enough integrity to be that artist. We have been playing by the losing rules for far too long…The line in the sand has been drawn.
