Returning to this case with a fresh set of eyes along with new information from local volunteer and Norwich University Graduate Northfield, VT and NSW Candidate Mentor William McIntosh – AWP team members Nick Rinn and guest “Down Under” Dan Prichard revisit Donnie Messier’s 16-year-old case after a 2021 search effort made by AWP founder Jared Leisek and team lead Doug Bishop.

Donnie Messier
Missing Since: October 5th, 2006
Missing From: Waitsfield, Vermont
Sex: Male Height: Unknown Weight: Unknown
Race: White
Age: 34 years old
Case Description:
Messier was last seen at a party in Waitsfield, Vermont at 2:00 a.m. on October 15, 2006. He left the gathering driving his red 1997 Ford F-150 dual cab pickup truck and has never been heard from again.
The vehicle has the Vermont license plate number BGG890, a dual exhaust, a moon visor, a black tonneau cover, and the NASCAR numbers 27, 07 and 08 displayed in the rear window. A photograph of it is posted with this case summary. Since his disappearance, Messier’s bank accounts, credit cards and cellular phone have been inactive.
Messier was reported missing on October 18, three days after he was last seen, after he missed two days of work at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters without calling in. His family described him as a hard worker and a “homeboy” who rarely traveled anywhere. The only out-of-state trip he had ever taken was in the fifth grade, when his father’s work briefly took the family to Florida.

This makes people not want to call the police when they find something
Thats what happens when you let big bottom girls run the show. This could jave been avoided you spent thousands on paving a road and got a liitle truck to try to pull the truck out. That truck would weight rough figures 4 ton then add 5 ton of rock and you try to use a 5 ton truck to pull it out? You obviously know nothing about hoisting. No tag lines hooked up? You could have used air bags to raise the truck. Then pulled it with the truck to shore. I hope they can find his remains was the seat belt latched?
This was so shameful to see everything lost because they thought as amateurs they knew better. Thank you AWP for everything you did

Drunk driving is no good and not safe
The police suck at finding lost people. As soon as these men find vehicles under water they hve to get involved to SHINE. That sucks
Like one police officer said in another recovery video before handing over the reigns to AWP: "This is not the day to learn new things", thereby acknowledging both AWP's expertise and putting the family's needs & emotions before 'being The Man'. Fortunately there are more police departments out there who think & act that way. Because this was just frustrating to watch.

absolutely gut wrenching to see how they handled the truck. inexcusable behavior to not use the experts hand delivered to you by the family. i believe there must have been some of donnie left in that truck, so disrespectful towards not just his family, friends, and loved ones but to donnie himself.

Here we see demonstrated that ARROGANCE is a greater sin than ignorance. I was so proud to see AWP in my beautiful, brave little state – until the VSP McPigs showed up and I lost all respect for them. Starting with the sophomoric giggles and proceeding to utterly botch the recovery of the remains and vehicle they made Vermont look more barbaric than the slowest, most turf-protecting, defensive sheriff we have seen here occasionally. I'm so sorry and apologize for this display that we ALL agree (every comment is about the crude 'recovery' effort) is a disgrace to humanity and to the dignity of the common man.

AWP has pulled 500+ vehicles and those cops let a state (always awful go independent) dive team botch the extraction. That’s very frustrating.
I hate that they said that the police found the damn truck NO THEY DIDNT also they didn’t even let them help out and pulled the truck out upside down.
I had to be honest after seeing the comments I can't watch it. To hear how this police let their egos get in the way and drag this man's remains just makes me sick.
If cops can find a way to screw shit up, they always will.
I’m surprised they even flipped the truck over to put it on the truck since they didn’t seem to care about ripping the truck all the way up the bank upside down. They sure “preserved evidence” absolutely heart wrenching.
