Recovering 15k Pound Snowcat 75′ Underwater in High Mtn Lake
In this episode of Adventures with Purpose, we travel to the Grand Mesa Lodge located at over 10,600 feet in elevation to recover a snowcat 70 feet deep that broke through 30″ of ice on Island Lake over 18-months ago.
The unfortunate side of this event is that two local guys passed away when the snowcat fell through the ice.
It was our mission to recover the snowcat free of charge so that family, nor the Forest Service, receives a bill for the snowcat recovery.
At the time the snowcat fell through the ice, it was February 2019 with over 30 inches of ice on the lake.
