AWP returns to the Lake of Ozarks in a continuous search for Donald Lee Erwin, known affectionately as Donnie, who mysteriously disappeared on December 29th, 2013. Avid watchers will recall that we have explored these murky waters before in our search for Donnie.

MISSING VETERAN: Donnie Lee Erwin (59) The Search Begins
Donnie disappeared in his 2002 Hyundai Elantra, having headed to a store in Camdenton, Missouri to buy cigarettes. A staple in his community and deeply missed by his family, especially his sister Yvonne, who has spent the last eight years hoping for answers.
Challenged by thunder, lightning, and the destructive aftermath of severe storms, we continue our meticulous search, unwavering in our quest to bring closure to Donnie’s family.
Despite being met with obstacles such as blown-out roads and a dangerously turbulent dam, the team perseveres. We consult maps, analyze previous search footage, and devise new strategies to ensure we cover all potential locations where Donnie might be.
Donnie is a disabled veteran with his left leg amputated above the knee with the unfortunate discussions of needing to amputate his other leg soon.
As civilian divers cracking cold cases for free, we represent the last hope for many families who have given up on finding their missing loved ones. This episode vividly illustrates the risks and challenges involved in underwater searches, especially in adverse weather conditions and challenging terrain.
In one poignant scene, we hold a group discussion to address safety concerns about searching near a low-head dam, which is notorious for its dangerous currents. We discuss various safety measures, highlighting the severity of the situation and our unwavering commitment to this critical mission.

Echo Divers found Donnie. He was by the airport and cemetery in a small pond on December 14, 2023, 3.5 miles from his home. It is really nice to see people out looking for missing people.
Finally found and recovered. December 2023. Everyone who kept on looking and kept coming back continued to narrow down where he cou,d be. Well done EVERYONE.

Thank you for what you do Jared. If I was a diver I would come out. Unfortunately I’m just an old disabled trucker that’s only good for where to go eat and been everywhere in the US and most of Canada. Keep it up. If feel if one doesn’t have closer it is the worst kind of pain.
just seen that donnie has been found! i haven't watched the full video yet but at least i'm glad that y'all were able to help the family by clearing areas he was not, which led to him eventually being recovered.
A Missouri man made a discovery that helped solved a 10-year-old mystery. James Hinkle a photographer and a diver combined the two activities to help find a missing man.
Donald Erwin went missing in 2013 while on a trip to a store. Neither he, nor his car have been seen since, until recently. When James Hinkle discovered a car submerged in a private pond while flying his drone. Detectives and cadaver dogs discovered human remains in the Missouri pond on Christmas Eve, days after Donnie Erwin missing car was found submerged in the water.
Investigators believe the remains belong to Donnie Erwin, a man who went missing 10 years ago on Dec. 29, 2013 in Camden County.
Odd how they are having to look for it when echo divers located it and adventures with purpose were the free responding recovery team
