18. The first thing Israel did to prepare is beg the U.S. for more free money.

19. Time is not on the IDFs side. They have war plans for a ground invasion already worked out in detail. This is similar to the delay in Ukraine that gave the Russians time to build defense in depth. The IDF needed to be rolling in with their existing plans as the terrorists were returning from the incursion. They could have caught them on the move and in the open. Now HAMAS will have weeks to go to ground, camouflage, build IEDs and mines in depth, and pre-site ATGMs.
