Ecuador’s Strike is a Class Struggle, Not an Endorsement of Previous Government

Ecuador’s Strike is a Class Struggle, Not an Endorsement of Previous Government

On the second week of massive protests in Ecuador, thousands of indigenous protesters paralyzed the country and thousands more arrived in the capital of Quito, where they marched and eventually faced martial law.

They reject President Moreno’s Neo-liberal reforms, but also emphasize their opposition to former President Rafael Correa, whom Moreno is blaming for the uprising.

We spoke to representatives of 2 of the largest indigenous organizations CONAIE and CONFENAIE.

  3. WHAT THE F*** ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???

Correa was not an enemy of the Indigenous peoples. Morales in Bolivia isn't either. Nobody has worked anf ACHIEVED FACTUALLY more for my fellow Natives than Correa and Morales.

Perfect? No. But to reduce poverty by 20% is no easy-piece feat, you don't push a "reduce poverty" button in your video console or tv remote.

Faults? Yes CONAIE and CONAMAQ rightly object the extractivist policies of Correa and Morales but we have sought alternatives since independence in 1810-25.

Again, there is no button called "diversify economy" on the videogame. Our economists and sociologists have long denounced the impossibility to diversify within a world-economy whose division of labour precisely seeks to magnify value-generation for those manufactured goods of the rich countries. It's called Theory of Dependence.

It is definitely NOT a matter of neglect, ignorance or lack of political will. We do want to diversify, and we have promoted domestic markets in detriment to commodity exports as much as possible but a more primary mandate and priority is to F***ING LET PEOPLE EAT. And we need some form of bargain to finance all the social services, infrastructure and actual FOOD.

So easy to criticise while refusing to acknowledge the bad alternatives we have in reality. And to acknowledge what is at stake.

I am ashamed of the armchair leftists in the Andes.

  4. It's a crying shame that Americans are way too lazy and apathetic to march in the streets like this for their rights and against their government corruption.

  5. We have to insist over and over again this is just the natural results of 3o-40 years of NEO-LIBERAL ECONOMY, in that direction even Correa is no except responsibility from this collapse of the social factory. A WORLD TO WIN!!!! LONG LIVE THE PEOPLE'S STRUGGLE !!!

  6. Because it is illegal to use the military on citizens in Ecuador the state of exception was made the amendment to the law for the reasons we see in the video.
It looks like Moreno moved the government to prevent the capture of his government not be caught in a palace takeover and lose command over the military.

As long as his government is intact and operates his policies are enforceable under repressive rule.
This, I would say, is a pivotal moment if the country enters a revolutionary direction or it stays where it is austerity under repressive rule.
If the people in revolt do not capture Moreno and his government they will have missed the chance to make history.

Killing him would be a really stupid move, a transitional government would have to annull his presidency and abolish his judiciary to undo all the safeguards Moreno put in place to protect and secure the elites. His death would do nothing to change the direction of the country by deconstructing the bureacratic military machine. This was the mistake made by the Egyptian Arab Spring revolution. They left the military intact and it came back to rule in a more powerful dictatorship under el-Sisi.

Not dismantling a military apparatus is a mistake of many revolutions of the People.
It is done by not making all officials elected and accountable, or revocable by the Public and not making all salaries of officials equal to the average worker's wages to dismantle the hierarchy.

  7. They need to form an armed and organized Marxist front if they want to win. The capitalist state will seed them no power if they just march and hold hands. Their state looks weak, terrified, and ripe for seizure by the working-class.

  8. Restoration of perfection on– this Earth. "Multiply and fill the Earth" this instruction by God, when, and for humans WHEN THEY WERE PERFECT– it was to be a planet of (perfect* people) multiplied and filling the Earth. God will finish His great plan. Ephesians 1:10,11🤗

  9. and the Corporate manufacturers who control the "cost of living" the Global Bankers will suffer the collapse of their World system, Zephaniah 1:17*,18 and it will be / and is; the God the Father Who is leading all nations to that point of failure's.It will be "unexpected destruction" 1Thessalonians 5:3 from God because the nations will be distracted; but they shall not escape. This Earth will not* be utterly destroyed, only the things God never, ever condoned; approved of. "Times of Restoration of all things"-

  10. James 5:1—absolutely a class struggle !!! And God has already declared the outcome, who wins. And the politicians and their boss lose. This is happening all over the World. The out come will be the same James 5:1 the corrupt "rich"; made up of the Religious leaders and

  11. The fact that Moreno stood for election as a Correa loyalist is just so wrong. If someone was elected as a capitalist and then introduced socialist policies there would be an international outcry.

  12. Bullseye and Yemen can start selling their defense war plans from Saudi Arabia's initial attack on their nation. Too all other nations targeted by NATO aka NOTO coalition.

This is how you defend yourself, cut the money supply off.

Looks like fatboy presiding over his welfare state will be missing some meals too. Those US and UK weapons deals, well sorry we are broke, broken and broke down by Yemen.

It's with out any doubt a win for Yemen. Who literally slapped the taste out of Saudi Arabia's mouth and knocked plates off their tables.
