How to SUPER FLUSH your Cars Cooling System

Learn how to flush your cooling system including the radiator, heater core, and engine block. I go though every step to SUPER FLUSH your cooling system completely. My truck’s cooling system was really really bad and it needed a good flush. Now the cooling system is filled with brand new coolant and is clean!

If your system is old or dirty, that dirt could be clogging holes in hoses, seals, and gaskets so take that into consideration when you do this.

  1. Helppppp my dashboard temp is in the middle (ideal temp) but the hoses are still cold wtf??? The distilled water i put in is also cold

  2. my mk4 golf uses and has pink coolant but leaks bright orange coolant. I think its an upgrade. I may or may not need to flush my coolant.

  3. Your average recycling centers/auto parts stores out it in the landfill. I work in this field. There's no recycling for this. Imo, the best would be to flush it down the toilet and let waste water treatment emulsify and precipitate it out

  4. Hey Chrisfix, I have a c4 corvette that I married into owning. I am replacing the radiator in a couple days.. I know the engine needs to be flushed of the contaminates. Would you suggest doing that after I have the new radiator in?

  5. If your vehicle was a mess I can just imagine the mess my 2014 ford explorer will be. All in all thanks Chris this video definitely gave me the confidence to change the engine coolant on my suv, thank you.

  6. ChrisFix fixed it! ChrisFix is CERTAINLY the best I've ever seen when it comes to things like this! I can watch his videos and I have no questions at all. Straight to the point and easy to understand. I am very detail-oriented and can critique something like you wouldn't believe. ChrisFix passes 100%! He's the best! 👍

  7. For those who want a Complete (Trans, Torque Converter, abd Radiator-Cooler) fluid exchange vs an approx 40% pan exchange, the following 2007 RAV4 approach SHOULD be applicable to Most makes and models:
1.) Remove the plastic shield under the front of the vehicle. Note, new assorted plastic push-clips are recommended.
2.) The radiator cooler transmission fluid out-fall is on the drivers side approx 3/4" OD, 3/8" ID rubber hose with spring clasp clamp — EASY to see and access!
3.) Disconnect the hose and attach an extension line to a translucent 1gal jug in an catch pan (for overflow/spills).
4.) The steel return line may drip into a second catch pan.
5.) Snuggly attach a clear extension line to the dip-stick tube with a funnel. (I inserted a clear plastic kitchen "baster" keeping the refill level from overflowing at top of the "baster"/funnel).
6.) Start the engine and put in gear (automatic) until approx 1/2 gal OLD is collected and turn off engine.
7.) Fill approx 1/2 gal NEW.
8.) Repeat for approx 2 1/2 gals until bright pink is dispensing.
    9.) Reattach radiator/trans Return line.
10.) Adjust fluid level to the low side of the "Cold" mark on dip-stick (so you can top-off to the Hot mark).
11.) Drive vehicle until transmission is up to approx 115 deg. F and adjust fluid level to "Hot" mark.
12.) Reattach the plastic shield using new plastic push-pins.
13.) This should replace the Trans, Torque Converter, and Radiator Cooler with ALL New Fluid.
NOTE: For Sealed transmissions attach an extension line with funnel to the steel Return line (instead of the non-existent "dip-stick tube").
    Happy motoring!

  8. As far as the cooling system cleaner (I’m using the prestone total cooling system cleaner) goes how long should you keep it in the system before you flush the video said a couple of days but I’m reading online that it shouldn’t be left more than 6 hours because it can eat away at the tubing?

  9. Hi Chris, been a fan of yours for many years, i want to do this on my 2013 honda accord which has never been flushed, just drain and fill like most people do. I'm just worried that there will be water left in the engine block? But you say in another video to rev up the engine and the water pump will push all the water out?

  10. So I got a 81 bmw 528i out of all things. But imma be draining and flushing the cooling system here soon, replaced the radiator with a aluminum aftermarket radiator due to the last one blowing up on me, I plan on flushing it and possibly drilling a hole in the thermostat to keep Temps low for drift track day.

  11. Hi Chris,
My car is Ford Fusion 2015 and it has orange coolant suggested by ford. Accidentaly, I added green coolant (I added around 200ml of green coolant). Do you think it will create a major issues or 200 ml is just fine ?
