  1. Hey Chris. Suggest drilling the cap without the bottle, so that you don't have debris in it. Thanks for your video.

  2. Thanks! I prepared my own Brake Fluid Bleeder, I had to buy a $8.49 tube which is 3/16" in Diameter, it's very tight enough to really bleed out my brakes and a Sprite 1 Liter bottle for my Mitsubishi Lancer 2011.

  3. Not sure if this would work better, but since the tubing has a 1/4-inch inner diameter and an outer diameter of 3/8-inch. Wouldn't it be better to use a 3/8 drill bit? It would still probably be plenty snug doing it with the exact size bit as the outer diameter of the tubing you're using.

Great video by the way. I've learned a lot about cars watching your videos on YouTube.

  4. I just did this and it was super easy. I know it is really for one person but I had my son pushing the brake pedal because I wanted to see air bubbles come out and the fluid change with my own eyes. Thanks for this video.

  5. Guys, try gravity bleeding your brakes. Just crack open the nipple and just let the fluid piss out and keep topping it up. Then close nipple and voila

  6. I was so ready to make one of these, but when I looked for the tubing at my local hardware store I realized that it's cheaper for me to buy a bleeder than DIY one. The price of tubing is a bit ridiculous at the moment.

  7. Another tip. If you have a piece of ferrous metal laying around, drop a magnet in the container, and sit on the piece of metal. That will keep it from moving/tipping, and you can pull off easy for storage.

  8. I need bleed rear break to front break if i change just one rear caliper… Or i can just bleed the caliper i change ? Tank you.

  9. Hi, your content is awesome thank you! Question, I drained my HMMWV power steering (as much as possible, turning the wheel left and right and taking out as much fluid as possible). Filled it back up with the proper fluid and even after driving it two times I still don’t have any power steering. Any pointers? Thanks!

  10. I did mine with a hand pump until I sucked out 8 ounces each wheel but I also kept an eye on the fluid level since if air ever gets in there I can't get it out on my own. That is the one critical thing, making sure that you don't run the fluid too low and get air in the system.

  11. Thanks man! I appreciate this. I did buy a Pittsburgh bleeder kit a couple years ago but that tiny bottle is hard to stablize. I have to do some brake work to our Sedona and Patriot soon so this is going to come in handy.

  12. ChrisFix, I was wondering why I never see you use this method in any of your newer videos? Instead you do the old school, 2-person method. Why is that?

  13. What would happen if I just left the cap off? If the pipe is gonna be submerged, I don't think any air should get into the brakes.

  14. Chris, always have enjoyed your tutorials. This one no exception. May I ask, do you have a hack for filling your car's reservoir while pumping to bleed the lines? Mightyvac and other brands have bottles in their kits that holds clean brake fluid attached to the car's reservoir so that you don't have to repeatedly fill the reservoir as you pump and bleed the brakes. I had been thinking that I could get a spare reservoir cap from the junk yard and finagle a tube and bottle setup similar to what you have in this video. Thanks.

  15. Just want to point out to others the large hole drilled into the container lid should be the same size as the outside diameter of the tubing.
