ASMR Brake Service

This ASMR video covers a complete 4 wheel brake job, and brake hose replacement on a 2005 Honda Element. There is no dialog.

In this video you will hear disc brakes being replaced, brake hoses being replaced, a brake lathe, cleaning, bleeding brakes, and a final test drive.

I spent extra time sweetening the audio on this so grab your headphones, or other personal listening device and enjoy.

Thanks for watching!

  1. If only more mechanics were this thoughtful and professional about their work instead of trying to beat their time and doing it quickly often missing some things.
I do all of my work just like this. This is my business card and is the best way to keep my customers.
I never lost one since I’ve started back in 92.

  2. If there is something I love about Eric The Car Guy is that he still uses the plastic soda bottle to bleed the brakes, same as he did 12 years ago.

  3. There is no problem with background dialogue or other audio so long as it is properly " normalized " which many YouTube channels do not accomplish satisfactorily . A good example of audio " balance " & " level " are the " School of Rock " ( shameless plug ) postings. None-the-less Eric does a great job here of fetching you into the content with all the right sounds and innuendo ! Rave On ETCG I & II, . . .Rave On !

  4. Honest questions:
it seems like there’s a lot of pad left on those brakes…were the calipers frozen?
And why did he have to do large work on a new rotor? Do they come from the factory needing to be turned for balance? Things I never knew

  5. Hi! Can you give me some advice about my 97 Civic? I am a Brit living in Thailand for 2 years. The car is made in Thailand. The outer bellow on the right driver side was cracked. The shop didn't have a complete shaft in stock and I opted to replace the outer CV joint. Everything back in place I went for a short drive. Arriving home to park on a slope, the drive shaft came out of the manual gear box! The circlip came out with the shaft. The short teeth inside of the circlip (about 2 mm in length) are badly damaged and I picked out what must have been the broken teeth inside the gearbox spline. I heard somewhere to check that the length after assembly should be the same as before. But I must admit my measurements show that it is shorter. How did this happen? The new outer CV joint is exactly the same length as the old one. The shaft and inner joint are unchanged. I am at a bit of a loss what to do now. I pulled back the bellow on the inner joint. Without removing any grease, it would appear to be ok.

  6. Nice 1, Eric and great cam work too.
There's something strangely satisfying about renewing a vehicle's braking capabilities!
The drum skim a pain in the valve though, eh?! 👌🏻🙌🏻

  7. I feel particularly edified to have seen this, since I just did the same on my 2003. Had the original rotors and suspension parts, so I had to hammer on those rotors quite a bit but I got it DONE and I'm very proud of it. I'm very jealous of the niceness of your wheels and door body panels…..Mine has already collected some dents as people around here don't understand or respect a 19-year old vehicle like I do…..but I'd rather put the blood, sweat and tears into an old fixer-upper Honda than make payments on a vehicle I'll never really own. People look at it and treat it as a junker and I'm over here thinking, "collector plates in a couple years! then no more registration fees, ever!" I hate how people disrespect my E. It's a real downer. 🙁 Anyways nice video as always! If this were out 2 months ago I would have done a few things differently. Thank you Eric.

  8. Hi Eric, thank you for your videos, very instructive . The wire clips you use in the video at a 27.17 time what's the porpuse of those wire clips? Thanks again for your videos.

  9. The sound and visual storytelling is to die for. Exquisite haha. Loved getting to see the satisfying process. Very well made video, good work.

  10. VERY COOL, Eric! Kinda' missed the quick-witted banter, though, but it was nice to hear the sounds as they occurred. Thanks!
