I love my H swapped Civic. Colorado as well I have had mine swapped since the very first Hasport kit came out which I think was around the year 2000 or so I could be wrong it has been a very long time. I got paperwork of it all and yes I did the work.

The biggest issue with welding that tooth is you have now significantly changed the strength of the metal due to the annealing process as the welded area cools. Essentially you weakened the tooth even further by removing the temper from the rest of the area that was still there.
