Did you check the expiration date of those cut off wheels? They resin/glue in them deteriorates over time, causing them to explode

The grinding wheel probably get wet at one time you should always have full face mask when grinding, day 1 stuff

Dont cut or grind on super sharp edges i work daily with cut off wheels an they are super weak if u grind on hard sharp edges not buy the right one ia pretty dangerous
The disk exploded because grinding aluminium (or aluminum) results in it melting and coating the wheel. The disc heats up under friction, then explodes.
How many exhaust is it 4 or 2
Duct tape makes a pretty good band-aid! I've had to use it as a band-aid a couple of times.
HF has a nice face shield… i highly suggest everyone get one + a mask when grinding/cutting. A day of grinding and without one your snot is black. yack…
