On January 8, 2023, A Brookhaven Police officer stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic violation in Atlanta, Georgia.
The officer asked the driver if she had been drinking, to which the driver replied, “Yes, but just one shot.” She was asked to participate in standardized field sobriety tests.
She was charged with DUI, driving on roadways laned for traffic, obedience to a traffic control device and transported to DeKalb county jail.

i'd like to see at least one time where the accused actually passes these "tests", and the cops say "damn. oh well, okay, you're good to go. get outta here, ya nut."
I feel bad for her. She seems like a good kid who got caught doing what I did waaaaayyy too many times – but without being caught. I know that based on the physical tests, the officer could arrest her, but considering that she blew below the legal limit and was extremely cooperative, I think he could've given her a break and let her call for a ride. Now entering the criminal justice system, she faces fines, costs, loss of driving privilege, a criminal record, exposure to Dekalb County Jail, this video and subsequent mugshots posted on the internet, and now has to be extra cautious about future law enforcement encounters. I hope she makes it through all of this okay – a lot of people don't.
They did her dirty. She did not blow a .08. They should have given her another 5 minutes to see if it went up or down.

What’s the use in having equipment if you’re not going to trust the readings and go off your own hunch? Then want her to give blood to prove yourself right. That officer was after money only.
