Ogden, Utah — On June 6, 2023, at around 3:25 p.m. multiple 911 calls were placed into Weber Area Dispatch. The callers were requesting a police officer to respond on not only the report of a protective order violation in progress, but that the suspect 37-year-old Brian Simonton was threatening others in the area and refusing to leave. During the 911 call, Simonton’s ex-wife told the operator that she had a protective order against Simonton and he had shown up at her apartment trying to leave his dog with her. The ex-wife told the operator that Simonton was known to carry guns. She said she was scared of how he’d handle being confronted by police. When the first officer arrived, he found Simonton wandering the parking lot with a weapon in his right hand. That officer immediately called for back-up, and ordered Simonton to drop the weapon 17 times.

A shootout ensued between officers and Simonton resulting in the officer being shot in the arm. As the officer was retreating to safety neighbors had come outside. “Get in the house. Get in the house,” the officer said to the neighbors. Back up officers cornered Simonton and he refused to drop his weapon. In the continuing gun fight Simonton was fatally shot and died on the scene. Officers recovered .45-caliber revolver next to his body, along with five empty shell casings. Investigators believe he was trying to reload, as there was live ammunition also found near his body. Police said he had been convicted of multiple domestic violence incidents and had two active protective orders against him. The officer who was shot in the arm was rushed to the hospital and was released the next day. The incident is still under investigation by the Weber County Force Investigation Team which is on going.

  1. The real story is no innocent civilians was killed or injured by all those rounds down range. That was incredible. No big loss when a criminal gets killed.

  2. Here is a challenge…..how many shots were fired by the cops? Lol
Um also how not even one ar carried by the cops all pistols.

  3. Damn the cop took a .45 to the arm. That scar will be gnarly!
What a waste of life that guy is. Glad he’s no longer around to be a menace.

  4. And this all started because he reached out to trying to get help for a sick dog but nobody wanted to be bothered with that can't possibly go out of your way to help something that can help itself and that's the world we live in but I have a lot of compassion for Animals especially dogs

  5. All of these officers are in Dire need of some Advanced tactical training, They also either need a different pistol or better training on the one the have . That was a lot of gunfire in a residential area . thank god there were no innocent by standards were hit . Zero regard for the safety of the public and oblivious to their background . No hate on the police just calling it like i see it .

  6. Стільки пострілів було чутно , подумав що поліція намагаєтся ліквідувати Термінатора

  7. Usually the only time you hear that much gunfire in a police shooting is when its in Chicago or LA.
And those little "zzzzzzzzzt" noises from incoming rounds………major pucker factor. All that is missing is a squad of marines laying down cover fire. lol.

  8. OMG!! THAT has to be one of the MOST INTENSE VIDEOS I'VE EVER SEEN INVOLVING A SHOOTOUT WITH POLICE!!
I AM curious as to HOW MANY APARTMENT HONES WERE HIT WITH STRAY BULLETS. 🤯😲

  9. dude the comms during that fight were insane lol I like how they put all the comms together at the end. also how many times did they shoot him? that man had to be like swiss cheese

  10. 13:35 I’m wondering who’s shots hit the gutter drain because the hole appears during the shootout. I hope it’s not the officers because if so he’s not aiming precisely at the suspect, but just shooting towards him.

  11. Lady forgot to mention he had a gun but guess what it’s taken care of now. Hope the police a speedy recovery. Life stresses and mental disease is rampant.

  12. Idk why they just don’t connect animal control with dispatch especially for these situations where an officer and animal control need to show up other wise it’s just a pointless job tbh

  13. I'm shocked at how officers will spray bullets into passing traffic, buildings, cars, anything at long distances with no regard for a clear line of sight. If you take CPL training, one of the first things you learn is to have a clear line of sight. I guess qualified immunity very often makes them cowboys.

  14. I grew up 30 min south of Ogden. Beautiful place. Drugs have taken a toll on the people, God bless the police 🚔, I pray the wounded officer is ok

  15. The second male officer sure likes to shoot into thin air. The suspect wasn't anywhere near where the officer was shooting about 10 rounds twords. He should have held his for until the suspect stepped back into the clearing. LUCKILY no bystanders stepped out to see what was going on.

  16. Some of those cops were firing at him and the backdrop with a backdrop of all those apartments. I would’ve been afraid of bullet would go into an apartment in kill someone. I’m not saying they did anything wrong. I’m just making an observation. It might come down to. What’s the lower risk. If they don’t take him out more people could be killed he could run into someone’s apartment as far as that goes and then they have a hostage situation.
