On May 5, 2022, the Chamblee Police Department sprang into action following reports of a possible kidnapping in progress.
A male suspect had allegedly abducted a family member at knifepoint during a heated argument and fled the scene in a vehicle just moments before law enforcement arrived.
Fortunately, the victim managed to make a distress call shortly afterward, revealing their location hiding in the bathroom of a Chevron gas station.
With this crucial information, officers swiftly pinpointed the gas station and located the suspect’s vehicle.
As police vehicles closed in, the suspect, realizing he was cornered, made a desperate attempt to escape, initiating a high-speed chase.
Several miles into the pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle collided with an SUV, bringing the chase to a dramatic halt.
Despite his efforts to flee on foot, the suspect’s escape was thwarted by the swift action of law enforcement.
A second police vehicle effectively immobilized the suspect, enabling officers to make a successful arrest without further incident.
The suspect now faces a litany of charges, including kidnapping, reckless driving, interference with government property and attempting to elude law enforcement.
