Police Break Up Illegal Party at Vacant Apartment

#CrimeCamNow
On October 11, 2022, Chamblee police officers were alerted to a suspicious situation at an apartment complex in Atlanta, Georgia. The apartment manager had received reports of a raucous party taking place in an apartment that was supposed to be vacant. Concerned about the unauthorized gathering, the manager immediately reached out to law enforcement for assistance.

Upon arrival, the officers approached the door of the apartment and announced their presence as Chamblee police, requesting everyone inside to leave peacefully. However, their calls went unanswered as the noise from the party continued to echo through the walls.

Undeterred, the officers sought access to the apartment, but they encountered resistance as a privacy lock prevented them from gaining entry. Determined to address the situation, the apartment manager provided a set of keys in an attempt to unlock the door. Despite their efforts, the door remained shut, prompting the officers to explore alternative routes.

Circling around to the back of the building, the officers found an entry point and successfully gained access. They cautiously cleared the apartment room by room, discovering several individuals who were in the midst of the illicit gathering. These individuals, who had failed to comply with the officers’ initial instructions, were subsequently arrested and charged with obstruction of law enforcement officers.
