Police Apprehend Two Suspects with Drugs and Guns

On March 28, 2021, the Brookhaven Police Department responded to a call reporting suspicious individuals sitting in a vehicle at an apartment complex in Atlanta, Georgia.
Officer approached the vehicle and detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside, he noticed two individuals in the car
As he was talking to the driver, the passenger suddenly bolted from the vehicle and made a run for it.
Officer radioed a description of the fleeing suspect to his fellow officers, and the K9 unit was promptly dispatched to assist in the search.
K9 unit located the runaway suspect in the vicinity. The suspect refused to surrender, prompting the deployment of the K9.
Realizing the seriousness of the situation, the suspect stopped and was arrested before any harm could come his way.
Suspect was brought back to the apartment complex for further investigation.
A search of their vehicle yielded more than just marijuana; officers discovered cocaine and two firearms hidden within the car.
The driver was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

  1. That officer was good because I personally would have let him get a fucking bit. These people break the law and so forth they should be punished and It should be severe

  2. Im curious, why does the cop talking to the driver act like smoking in the car with it running isnt a big deal…Don't ppl get arrested for DUI or DWI for the same thing but with alcohol? I'm pretty sure operating a motor vehicle (parked or not) is the same as driving it around. Why does he act like it wasn't a big deal. Just curious. Maybe some states have different laws about that but I'm not sure. Odds are they were going to finish smoking and then drive off somewhere or at the very least the driver was going to go home putting himself and others at risk while he's high.

  3. Looks like k9 needs to be retrained considering he got out the car with intent to play with suspect not detain ..
