On February 28, 2022, Clarkston Police Officers responded to a disruptive incident at Food Mart Convenience store in Clarkston, Georgia, where an intoxicated individual had been causing a disturbance.

Reports from the scene indicated that the individual had entered the store in a state of intoxication, leading to interference with the store’s normal business operations. Store personnel promptly notified law enforcement to address the situation.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers engaged with the intoxicated individual, urging him to vacate the premises as per the owner’s request. However, the individual, showing signs of inebriation, adamantly refused to comply with the officers’ instructions. Instead, he challenged the officers by asserting his indifference to the prospect of arrest, boldly stating that he was unafraid of any potential consequences.

In a bid to defuse the situation and ensure the individual’s safety, officers offered him an alternative solution – a ride home – in lieu of taking him into custody. Despite their repeated attempts to peacefully resolve the matter, the individual remained uncooperative, persisting in his refusal to leave the property.

Regrettably, the situation escalated, and officers were left with no choice but to take the individual into custody. Subsequently, he was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, CRIMINAL TRESPASS (Enter Notice), and CRIMINAL TRESPASS (damage less than $500).
