Parking Lot Scam: Woman Targeted and Robbed at Petsmart

#CrimeCamNow
In a shocking incident that unfolded on November 8, 2021, a woman fell victim to a cunning scam orchestrated by a man at a Petsmart parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The unsuspecting victim had gone to the store for some shopping, unaware of the impending danger that awaited her.
As she walked through the parking lot, a seemingly helpful man approached her, offering to fix a scratch on her car for a reasonable fee. Trusting his words, the woman agreed, believing that she had found a convenient solution to her car’s cosmetic issue.
Unbeknownst to her, the man had devious intentions. While the woman was engrossed in her shopping, he spray-painted her vehicle, turning a minor scratch into a full-blown mess. When she returned to her car and discovered the damage, her shock quickly turned to outrage as the scammer demanded an exorbitant sum of $1400 for his alleged services.
Realizing that she was being taken advantage of, the woman refused to pay the outrageous amount. In a desperate attempt to coerce her, the scammer snatched her cell phone, intending to transfer the money from her account using the Cash app. However, his nefarious plan hit a roadblock as he struggled to complete the transaction.
Fearful for her safety and with her car blocked, the scammer manipulated the situation further. He escorted the victim to a nearby Bed Bath & Beyond store, coercing her into purchasing Visa gift cards as a means to compensate him. With the scammer’s demands temporarily appeased, he swiftly left the parking lot, leaving the victim emotionally shaken and financially defrauded.
Months passed, but justice finally caught up with the scammer. Law enforcement authorities from the Dunwoody Police Department tracked him down, leading to his arrest. The man now faces multiple charges, including theft by deception, criminal damage to property in the second degree, and robbery by intimidation.
The victim, though scarred by the traumatic experience, serves as a reminder to all to remain vigilant and cautious in their interactions with strangers. This incident serves as a stark reminder that scams can happen anywhere, even in seemingly safe places like a parking lot. The authorities urge the public to report any suspicious activities and stay informed about common scams to protect themselves from falling prey to such deceptive schemes in the future.

  1. "David?" "Yeah, the guy in the back bedroom?" "How you know that?" "Because I have an Officer looking at him right now!" 😂😂😂 boom!! 💀💀 I'm dead!

  2. i cant imagine why anyone would agree to let that guy do any work for them. he looks like the moron from family guy who works with peter, the one with the cork in his head

  3. whoever the officer is … We don’t like some of y’all because y’all KILL BLACK PEOPLE … especially unarmed BLACK PEOPLE. to hear u chuckle to that puts more hatred in my heart! lame ass

  4. I feel like the victim did WAY too much for this stranger. I wish I could've dropped that clown if he tried to get froggy and take my flip phone. 😀

  5. Sandy springs PD 👉🏻👎🏻her story was fixed, and the bad part is, it’s a civil matter and now she’s not arrested for lying

  6. I get that they're scammers but why would you say yes to some rando in the parking lot? I swear there is some brain rot going around.

I also love how he told 'her' to move and 'she' responded with "I'm a lady" and his response was basically "the fuck you are".

  7. i’m not one to victim blame, and him and his scamming family are obviously in the wrong, but why would she leave him to do what he wanted like. i wouldn’t even engage with him in the first place BUT if i did i wouldn’t leave him unsupervised with my property that’s kinda wild to me…

  8. I had a guy try to use that "cleaner wax" on my car in a parking lot once to then attempt to sell it to me. I politely informed him if he touched my car he'd be leaving wax stains anywhere he sat down until he got medical assistance to remove the can.

  9. GOOD. YEARS AGO SOME SCAMMER DID THIS TO MY UNCLES TRUCK, DRILLED HOLES AND SCAMMED MY 70 YEAR OLD UNCLE OUTTA $200 AND LEFT THE TRUCK SO DISGUSTING. FUCK. THESE. SCAMMERS. ROT IN HELL.

  10. The wife with horrible acting "Not knowing what her husband was doing". The husband horrible acting "Not knowing whats going on, being hurt and disable". This here is a horrible low budget movie

  11. Help me understand why would ANYONE and I do mean ANYONE let a RANDOM PERSON in a parking lot offer to fix anything on your car without you seeing red flags? Come on now my people

  12. I know they’re criminals, but people can ask you why when you’re giving them lawful commands in their house. She was in the wrong but you shouldn’t generally think that nobody can question you because you’re the police, it’s a bad look

  13. Im sorry but this woman was so dumb for letting a random stranger who approached her in a parking lot, conduct body work, then handing her phone to the individual that is essentially scamming/robbing her and then she goes and buy $1400 worth of gift cards….. im sorry…. where in the heck was her brain?

  14. She said they took her phone out her hand at first, & then she basically explains giving them the phone to send the money because she doesn’t know how to use cash app. This is clearly a Karen who went home after paying the guy the money for the “Repair” & her husband told her she got ripped off & this was the only way for her to get the money bacc like the bank said; to file a police report 🤦🏾‍♂️

  15. Both of the scammers are despicable. That being said…. the lady that was scammed made it easy for the scammers to do so!! Agreed to body work in a parking lot!?!?! Gave in to buying visa cards!?!?!?! Didn't immediately call the cops!?!?!?!?!? Never even asked what the price was going to be?!?!?! Jeez. Be smart from the beginning. Say no. Walk away and let someone in the store know that you feel threatened and call the cops

  16. Always the same suspects why can't they just get a job and leave people alone. And how dumb is this woman going along with anything😂

  17. I love how the Sargent didn’t take any bs, and made it clear that he means business, he believes in gender equality too , we need more officers like him 👍
