In the quiet neighborhood of Chamblee, chaos erupted on June 23, 2022, when Chamblee Police Department officers were called to an apartment building. Residents reported gunshots in the complex, leading to a series of events that would eventually unfold.
Upon arrival, officers were met with a witness who described a drunken couple arguing. The argument escalated to the point where a male fired a gun into the air. The witness was not only able to recount the altercation but also informed the officers which floor the intoxicated couple lived on.
As officers made their way upstairs, another witness provided further details, describing loud noises as if someone was vigorously stomping on the floor. When the officers reached the couple’s apartment, they discovered shell casings in front of the door.
With caution, they knocked on the door, and the intoxicated female resident answered. She initially downplayed the situation, attributing it to a minor disagreement. She explained that they had been out drinking and that jealousy had sparked the argument. Her jealousy had been triggered by her partner talking to another woman, which had led to a heated altercation continuing at home.
The male suspect was asked to step outside and was detained for further investigation. A thorough search of the couple’s apartment revealed firearms and bullet holes, evidence of the gunfire that had occurred.
To ensure the safety of the residents, the officers spoke with other neighbors, who fortunately had not been harmed. The female suspect displayed visible scratches and bruises, which she attributed to her mixed martial arts and boxing training, as well as her job at a bar.
The male suspect wasn’t in the clear, as officers discovered various illegal substances on his person. They photographed the female’s injuries, even though she insisted they were from her training and work.
