On April 2, 2022, Chamblee police officers responded to a shoplifting incident at Von Maur store, located inside the Perimeter Mall in Atlanta, Georgia.
The scene unfolded as officers arrived to find a female suspect, accompanied by her husband and a small child, in the mall’s parking lot.
The officer on the scene explained to the woman that she was being detained and proceeded to place her in handcuffs.
Meanwhile, a store employee informed the police that there was another female involved. In their search, officers discovered only a bag from a Macy’s store.
With the female suspect now in custody, the officers took her to the loss prevention team.
Another officer reviewed video footage, confirming the shoplifting act. In a desperate plea, the tearful suspect begged the store employee not to press charges.
The female suspect was charged with theft by shoplifting and was subsequently transported to DeKalb County Jail.
