Thornton, Colorado — On December 27, 2022, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Thornton Police Officers were dispatched to Wells Fargo Bank located at 12040 Colorado Blvd. in reference to an armed robbery. A male and female had reportedly displayed guns while walking into the bank. An officer in the area observed a vehicle leaving the bank at a high rate of speed. Other responding Thornton units initiated a pursuit. The fleeing vehicle, later determined to be stolen, drove to the intersection of 88th Ave and Hwy 2 in Commerce City where it drove against traffic and crashed into another vehicle.

The driver of that vehicle suffered minor injury. The male suspect exited the stolen car and shots were fired, both adult male and adult female were injured in the incident. The adult male suspect fled on foot and attempted to car-jack another vehicle close by. The male and female were then taken into custody and transported to area hospitals with injuries from the incident. Two firearms were recovered from the scene. The driver, Angel Matthew Gallegos has been charged for its second degree kidnapping, first degree assault, aggravated robbery, second-degree assault, vehicular eluding and menacing among other charges. The female suspect, April Destiny Martinez is still being treated for her injuries and is facing federal charges, for her involvement.

  13. What was the dispatcher doing? Was she browsing Victoria Secret or something? There is no reason she should be saying "hold on" while clicking and tapping on her computer. That thing should have been on the work screen and nothing else I don't care how boring it is. She reminded me of McDonalds by my house. They say "can I take your order" and you proceed to give them that order only for them to say "sorry can you repeat everything you just said" because they arent even at the computer putting your order in. Dispatcher should go back to McDonald's and learn some basics.

    Edit: holy crap this whole department needs some retraining asap

  18. Not pretending to be a know it all, but there were some instances there where they put each other at unnecessary risk of friendly fire. To me, this looks like they got to a certain point and got stuck not knowing how to proceed. They had a cover man w/ the rifle, but they still had 2 or 3 other guys on him with pistols, and everyone was shouting commands. I think you only need 1 guy shouting commands here…

  25. In the middle of the gunfight, one arriving officer gets on the radio to announce he has arrived. UNBELIEVABLE! This idiot is either brand new or dumb as a box of hammers. Taking precious air time to announce something so meaningless.
