You just can't boast through crosswalks and intersections, you still need to know it's clear. You can't just drive with disregard for obstacles and people in an emergency.

I've been repossed so many times and so often in this country by police officers and every time I say I don't think I've seen anything more disgusting. The behavior they exhibit obviously never ceases to amaze me. I say again this is probably the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. I don't know if I believe in qualified immunity in general, but I feel the idea of it has merrit in certain situations.
This was a freak accident that could have been avoided by two easy ways: slowing down (considering the factors) and always have sirens/lights functioning on all calls.
There should be more clarity/transparency/laws that can revoke qualified immunity in situations where LEOs abuse their titles and citizens rights.
I feel horrible for the young lady and anyone to whom she was close.
I know this officer intended on saving a life this night. While en route, he took one. I truly believe he was just trying to be a good LEO that will carry this with him forever. The idea of qualified immunity has its place but he will probably be convicted of manslaughter.

The officer should be charged with negligent homicide, reckless endangerment, fired without benefits or retirement. The guy on the radio should be fired immediately and banned from all government employment and contracts and from receiving ANY government benefits, retirement, social security, etc, for life.

This may be the most horrific thing I have ever heard. OK….I get dark humor as a coping mechanism but this is not what I am hearing. First of all, dark humor is typically used a long after the event is over. While I don’t know the time variance between the accident and the comments made in this video, it appears to be a short time because the cop is sharing a fact (she is dead) that would be known by everyone in the community within a day or two max after the incident. That is far too little time for anyone to be finding humor in the circumstances. This person has to be a psychopath to behave this way and there is no room for someone with this character flaw in law enforcement in any capacity. Obviously, the cop who accidentally killed this woman was crying because of what he did. He may have been in the wrong but at least he had compassion for the victim. The idiot laughing about it is virtually inhuman. Disgusting on every level.
As for police safety above all else: I kind of somewhat see why police safety has to be pounded into their brains. They are called into dangerous situations and not all dangerous situations appear dangerous at first glance. They must be hypersensitive to potential danger. I want these cops to go home to their families too. That said, they fictitiously use this idea as a way to bully people they don’t like or that they are afraid of……not because they are dangerous in terms of bodily injury but because they are dangerous to careers if they capture cops doing something inappropriate. Deadly weapons and bad intentions are dangerous, not cameras and law abiding citizens.
