Yes, Trump is horrific. This is not news. And to focus solely on him misses the bigger picture. Outside of kneeling for a few minutes, where has the Democratic leadership been? Where is their outrage? So far, Mitt Romney is the only member of Congress who has marched with the protesters. Perhaps a photo op, but also a statement. Where's Pelosi? Where's Schumer? Where's Biden? Oh, that's right, in his basement. Trump is a loudmouth racist, but silence, or near silence, is complicity. In all the Dem's years in Congress and the WH, the militarization of police has grown, and nothing has been done to counter racism at its roots, which is the exploitation economy from which both parties benefit.
If you really want to save democracy a new 3rd Party must be formed whose goal is to gain enough political power to make ALL political parties even itself illegal. The Democrats and Republicans are beyond repair. They have demonstrated this clearly with how little they have helped the average American during the pandemic. I am not talking about a one party State. I am talking about a NO party government. George Washington himself was against the formation of political parties.
Political parties are what have made it possible for the total corruption of our government. Once the leaders of a political party become corrupt the whole party becomes corrupt and stays corrupt forever. With a NO party government all elected officials are independent and have to answer to the will of the people they represent. If they don't they get voted out of office. If they become corrupt they get voted out of office at the next election.
In reality out democracy has been dead since Ronald Reagan became president. Bill Clinton turned his back on the Middle Class, Working Class and Poor in favor of the 1%. It hasn't mattered if it was a Republican or Democrat in the White House they only served the 1% and large corporations they control.
