The G7 (G6+1) went on with its selfsame 'growth', 'trade' litany without ever touching questions of the limits of 'growth' and trade fairness. So yes, I think we should thank President Trump for making 'good' on his campaign promisses. Nothing erratic here, he does what he said. And this kind of isolationism might have something good – namely to disentangle the often stifeling trade relations between countries. Canada should re-adjust their trade / economy making it less dependent on the US. It's good they want to be treated as partners now, not just as appendix to the US.
