The Crown Act: Texas judge rules that Black teens hair is punishable by school | LiveNOW from FOX

Texas’s CROWN Act that bans discrimination based on natural hair and hairstyles does not apply to hair length, a judge determined Thursday, ruling in favor of the Barbers Hill Independent School District.

The trial for a student who was suspended by Barbers Hills ISD for his hairstyle was held on Thursday. School officials said Darryl George, 18, was suspended due to his dreadlocks exceeding the length limit in the school’s dress code.

  1. Yeah but don't want black history in school, now y'all worrying about the hair..y'all are so racist and the people sit down and allow them to stay in office.. this is y'all so called make America great again..

  2. This is ridiculous & obviously the judge just didn't want that school to have to pay for the harm it caused to those children. The length needing to be specified excuse is nonsense because the Act protects boys & girls & there is no reason anyone would suspect a girl to have hair any shorter than the young man's was in order to attend school.

  3. Our son’s school has many children with natural long hairstyles . I don’t understand. We live in North TX and this is embarrassing to me to see this and have it viewed as an image of Texan ways.

  4. This is why I got rid of all my tv's six years ago! This guy "trying" to say a law should be MORE EXPLICIT NEEDS AN ENEMA! we know which side his bread is buttered on. Can we all say "Sam-bo" boys n girls?
There should NOT be 'ANY FKN LAW THAT TELLS YOU HOW TO WEAR YOUR GOD GIVEN MANE!" It's ludicrous! Hair is part of royalty and its not unnoticed the school is called "Barber". I didn't know "Fox News had stumbled onto YT?" There is no such thing as a "legally punished black student". Texas Fox News is losing its audiences. This silliness will draw attention, harass the parents, take up time in the courts with inadequate lawyers that can't win & give the judge something to do besides twiddle under his robe. The GAF of it is: We as black folk in body, mind and spirit are vulnerable with little or no protection and to add to it they worry jealously about the codes in our protective hairstyle (s). They should vomit in their mouths! note: Youtube don't take this down it will help "religiously stuck Fox viewers time to go get popcorn!) Oh! and yes that's a portrait of Thurgood Marshall in the background and with a few subliminals!

  5. Don't go where you can't follow rules. Plain & simple. He & his family knew what the school policy is & the fact they are helping him fight this is a prine example of why ppl don't respect authority these days. Next he'll probably be a sovereign citizen 🙄 He can have his hair ANY way when he's done with school & let's see where he gets into college or a job now being known as a rebel who fights against rules. The school is teaching boundaries & neatness in one's presentation. Are they going to fight for extra long & untidy nails too since they grow naturally?? Or dirty smelly clothes because sweat is real? They knew what they were planning, it takes months & years to groom dreads & I bet the school never said anyone has to relax their hair either. The whole thing speaks volumes about the parent's character.. Everything is not always about race SMH.

  6. The days of that strict conformity should not have to be heaped on kids. Give the kids a choice… the only thing left to do is buzz it? For what? It's high school, it just needs to be neat. This is not worth the boy's education, they can't make a change to it? All they have to do is make an adjustment to the law.

  7. We are more worried about a student hairstyle than teaching them is crazy 😂😂 the u.s dont care about brown skins never did changing our race too many times.. go do yall family genealogy & look up your rights

  8. Crown ACT… Hmmmm… Does this mean they wish to control the Crown Chakra? Black? That's a misnomer and that designation puts a so-called Black under he 14th Amendment or a slave status…. Constitution and Legal system don't mix….Time to be a National and forget being a citizen… Real talk…

  9. Lawyer marks got this wrong this just sad Texas is sad education is important hair shouldn’t be big concern the bill need to be changed .. 😢

  10. This is not a law, our ancestors was killed and our country ruled by European ways of living, ,the school need to be shut down , hair is not gone to stop a student from learning,
Our hair, is our crow of glory given by God, We no longer want to use the chemicals to look European, We are the true descendant of America . The killed our ancestors, and forced the children to look according to what they want, Yet Now our Time to be who we are,, Let everything be real
