The leaked majority draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health—which suggests the Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, returning the question of abortion to the states—is part of a broader assault against women. The COVID-19 pandemic, for instance, has seen an estimated 30% increase in violent attacks against women, along with the curtailment of their rights. This assault, writes author and activist V, is “the most severe setback to women’s liberation in my lifetime.”
Much of this abuse, including an increase in sex and labor trafficking, is driven by the loss of work, further disempowering women. “In the US, more than 5 million women’s jobs were lost between the start of the pandemic and November 2020,” V writes in The Guardian. “Because much of women’s work requires physical contact with the public—restaurants, stores, childcare, healthcare settings—theirs were some of the first to go. Those who were able to keep their jobs were often frontline workers whose positions have put them in great danger; some 77% of hospital workers and 74% of school staff are women. Even then, the lack of childcare options left many women unable to return to their jobs.”

I think patriarchy is built around men being jealous that women can create life when men never will.
I live with someone who doesn't see the point of accountability. He struggles to understand this conceptually in regards to the horrific mishandling of Covid. I want so badly to hear people admit that this has been mishandled. Not sure how to heal from this aspect of this.
The USA is not a “patriarchy”. Women enjoy equal legal rights and have fine do for decades.
"People with pregnancies" You just lost all credibility. You're not getting women anywhere by redefining women as an iDeNTiTy. You're a bigger threat to all of women's SEX-based rights in law if you believe women can be a feeling in a man's head, instead of full human beings with both bodies and minds. Feminism is not your "all lives matter" movement. WOMEN need to fight for WOMEN. Instead, you're too afraid to even say the word woman. As a lesbian, I will never follow you or your luxury beliefs.

The point is to remove Civil Rights from all of us who aren't wealthy, white, able-bodied, cisgender, christian men.
Taking out Roe v. Wade removed Civil Rights from half of We The People in the U.S. It classified women and girls as easily exploitable, living incubators and sexual mechanisms, with no rights that those wealthy white men are obliged to respect.
Next will be LGBTQ+, all of those who are not white, people who are disabled and those who aren't rabidly christian.
We are being propelled at light speed into a theocratic fascist's dream. And our dystopian nightmare.
