We are #ADOS, we are not like other groups, Jamaicans, Chinese, Japanese, Mexicans, etc. meaning, in their communities, they have a unique language, food, clothing, and holidays that they can't get from big box stores. Other than hair care, fish fry, and soul food everything we want can be gotten at a chain Restaurant or Big Box Store. So after I get my hair done and eat Big Mama's Ribs N Chicken what is it that I'm supposed to purchase in the black community? Auto repair and parts come from Auto Zone, Pep Boys. Groceries, Krogers, Vons, Ralphs; we are not in an era of independently owned stores. Further, during that era white mobs destroyed Black Wall St., Wilmington and thousands of other thriving black communities. Additionally, we don't own most of what's in our community now, immigrants own the corner stores, Big Boxes if they are there are multinational. Lastly, in the 1950's when urban centers had thriving black neighborhoods the government built the highways through it which eradicated any community capital we had left.
