  1. Puerto Rico is a captive market of the US which buys over $24B of American products a year and transported solely on the US merchant marine – a colony in the 21st century.

  2. Welcome to the United States of Israel 🇮🇱 sponsored by Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 and made in China 🇨🇳.🤔😡

  3. This trip also showed how little Trump's words are worth. He mobbed Duchess Meghan and then denied it. He implored the "special relationship" with Britain, whose division he is only pushing forward with his Brexit jubilation. He spoke of "unbreakable" bonds with NATO, which he breaks down at every opportunity. He spoke of the D-Day horror and greeted a veteran then as a lottery winner: "Congratulations!" The good news: There was no catastrophe, at least according to the standards that one trumps in Trump times. Sure, he's not prepared for anything, either big politics or protocol details. He knew so little about the planned trade deal with Britain that Theresa May had to correct him in front of cameras. And when the Queen led him around, pointed to a pewter horse and asked if he recognized it, Trump said no – he had given it to her. The bad news: That you have to create such standards.

  4. 45% poverty rate!! This epitomises the corruption and the lack of political will from the local government. Tourism alone won’t sustain the economy. Rebuilding the infrastructure and creating empowerment zones are key to reviving the economy.

  5. Puerto Rico could use a public bank to fund the government through the bank's interest income. That would work much better than funding a public bank for private profits for vulture hedge funds like it is now. During America's colonial period, Ben Franklin set up a banking system for Pennsylvania that replaced the need for taxation. PR could provide a banking example to lead the whole world forward away from the bad model we have all been following for hundreds of years.

  6. In Puerto Rico, personal income from capital gains, interest, and dividends are untaxed. Thus, it is a tax haven for the rich. Who cares if Puerto Rico is short on revenue to help them after a severe weather event, we must make sure the rich continue to get their tax breaks. So, instead, just have US taxpayers pay for the disaster relief.

  7. IMO If Puerto Rico could have foreign ships land there and foreign planes, it would help them trade and make them less dependent on the US.

  8. My daughter's family doing fine in P.R now, There small Hotel is extremely Busy for the past year!🤷‍♂️🇵🇷
