Loved the movie, btw, but the floods in the film have nothing to do with climate change. Floods have been happening in Seoul for decades, long before anyone talked about climate change (and much of the flooding had to do with pouring concrete over everything with nowhere for floodwaters to go). Nothing new there (floods happened every year I lived there). As for income inequality, it is true that some of the rich in Korea have a snobby attitude to the lower classes, but in the West, they are far more careful about showing such contempt. In fact, many rich in the West are virtue-signaling limousine liberals who pretend to care about average people. Class is more apparent in Korean society than it is in Canada or the US now (maybe because the rich try to hide their contempt here?). Is income inequality an issue? Sure, but how are you going to mitigate the problems? Not by the usual solutions of attacking the rich. Allowing for the creation of many more jobs thus opportunities for people will.
If you believe in Jesus Christ then you know He is the only One who actually changes the weather and climates. YOU cannot save the earth. Worry about getting saved yourself. When Jesus returns, which won't be long, He will restore everything. Don't worry.

What can seem to be "similar" socio-economic positions can be remarkably different. The Kim family live in a semi-basement, between the earth and the sky (hell and heaven), while the basement dwellers have no windows to even remind them of an open world. The basement dwellers are swamped in debt, while debt is never mentioned for the Kim family. There is also much more solidarity between the members of the Kim family, all working together, than for the basement dwellers, where the husband is leeching off his wife.
Far too often we rely on income as a measure of socio-economic position – the Kim family was very much struggling for income prior to employment with the Parks, but they were not riddled with debt, and with two children about to become wage-earners, there was reason for considerable hope. The basement dwellers have no children (that we see), and no familial support structure. They exist on a miserable terrified debt-ridden island, expecting to struggle along prior to approaching death, which the movie provides for them.
Debt as a metaphor for being "underwater" renders the basement dwellers drowning, the Kim family in the water struggling to rise above, and the Parks above water and largely dry. So absolutely the Kim family and the basement dwellers are NOT in "similar" socio-economic position,, despite the optimistic ending with all of the families brought together in egalitarian chaos.
Wealthy people should care about climate change, most of the expensive homes are all by the water xD

So far, with a little over 227,000 IMDB user votes this film has an 8.6/10 rating, so it must be quite good. Based on what I read of the summaries, people may like this film for other societal reasons than climate change, but it's part of the "mix".

Floods have happened all throughout history.
The climate alarmists keep predicting things that fail to materialize, such as the disappearance of glaciers by 2020 in glacier national park (not happening) or the demise of polar bears (not happening) or adelie penguins (not happening). How come the media never calls them on this? There's some sort of extreme weather happening somewhere on the planet every day, and THAT's what they focus on as "climate change." It's just WEATHER, folks.

I think the use of Native American decor by the affluent in the film with the understanding that the family is not especially cruel is an example of how many privileged could believe themselves to be virtuous while at the same time being ignorant participants in a greater problem.

I learned today that the future has power only because we desire it to be different than the present. Can we learn from NH sadly I don't think Bernie can. A entrepreneur that I admire deeply said when you embark on a endeavor and it's not working to fail fast and pivot. The format of the town halls are odd where you are in front like a preacher telling people what kind of President you would be which is needed BUT. Get a little sound system and 3 or 4 video displays and have shin,digs events small gradually getting bigger, mingle with the people play videos and in between conversations. Kitchen table issues health care, but better said a wellbeing plan and what this would bring to the nation. Massive infrastructure jobs jobs and more jobs. Moving rapidly to a green economy public transit ultra modern railway, electric cars and fast charging stations ubiquitous everywhere. Partial subsidy for solar panels and battery backups for all homes grid independence. A new homestead act for highly energy efficient homes mini farm sustainable living. Call me let's talk about it. I have the sound equipment but not the video wall. Just on a side note people with great wealth don't appreciate being told they have to give back they want to be inspired to give back. So I guess this explains the frantic Asian woman who came to my job’s video dept when I was just trying to finish up zoning and stocking (for almost the last 7 hrs)… the woman was going crazy saying “do u guys have ‘Parasite?’ I need that movie now, U guys said u had it online? We've seen this neurotic artifact of American life over and over. A dystopian situation in real life or a catastrophic act of nature or war takes place and the public refuse to or cannot process it by way of the news media or within the political arena. So the American film industry turns the event into a movie. That this is a foreign language film does not make it a piece of foreign (Korean) cultural art. Like so many other films like this, it takes the director's treatment of current social ills and turns them into money at the box office. Alarmingly, these kinds of films all too often have the effect of providing, in the public mind, an answer to the actual problems; leaving many with the erroneous feeling that because a film has been made, somebody must be at work fix things. Too much hype of this kind of film is quite dangerous. The medium is rarely the message that people actually need to hear.
The petty bourgeoisie of Hollywood just love films with deep class analysis. It appeals to their rich man’s guilt. Maybe one day they’ll stop identifying themselves with the capitalist class but I’m doubtful
