Lopez Obrador’s Plans to Lead Mexico out of Neoliberalism Will Mean Crossing Swords with the US

We now have a politically experienced president in Mexico – gone are the days when Mexico kowtows to the US. This will mean a more sovereign economic and foreign policy, says Vijay Prashad of Tricontinental Institute for Social Research

  1. "The troika of tyranny" says John Bolton, presumably without laughing, or even a trace of irony. Any leader who stands up to U.S. neoliberal imperialism is going to make himself and his nation a target. I am sure Lopez Obrador fully understands that. The way to deal with bullies is to stand up to them.

  2. That guy is just wrecking Mexico. He has no knowledge whatsoever for simple things, he wanted to sell the presidential plane that is on lease, the list goes on and worse. Mexico will go down with this clown leading. His followers are are blind and they will offend anybody that thinks differently regardless of anything without any proof just because they don't like hearing other ideas. Sad to say but your news are not real….

  3. The USA will be that odds with many of Mexico's new government that wants its population to prosper better, and meet its potential. The USA should resist its constant meddling in other nations political and economic determinations. The USA has meddled into almost every election, foreign currency and trade destruction of every foreign government on the planet. With Mexico vowing to divert from the USA destructive polies, it will perform better than past leaders, by just knowing the USA is the wealthiest looking country; but it is really the poorest country with the most national debt of any country ever on the planet. Right? Exactly right. Good luck with that Mexico.

  4. Three weeks into his Presidency the zionists are already trying hard to derail his administration. The good thing is he has a strong support by the people.

  5. He already limited politician's salary stating "no one should make more than the president", took away the very generous pensions for ex-presidents, sold the presidential airplane and opened up Los Pinos as a FREE tourist attraction…so far so good in my book. Not saying he will be great as only time will tell, but he's off to a good start.

  6. Is there a potential this man will turn Mexico into a Venezuelan catastrophe? The left puts an emphasis on equal outcomes, thus, insuring equal misery to all. You don't have to look too far back in history to see the failures of dictatorships of communism, socialism and Nazism: USSR, Cuba, Venezuela, EU, North Korea.

  7. Mexico will have mote then 3 million barrels of oil per day, refine his own gasoline in 2020, 300 million dollars per day times 364 days equals more than one billions a year yust in oil, mexico will become the second country
with more oil in the world.

  8. If they kill AMLO a revolution starts in Mexico. The people was ready to fight on July 1st in case they would steal his Presidency for the 3rd time. He's exposing the past governments and the people love him for that and much more. More than 30 million people voted for him and that's the most votes that a candidate has gather in Mexican history.

  9. Neutral Zone Neoliberalism is not the problem. Mexico’s government is rotting in corruptions. Elites are the problem specially when they use the institutions for there advantage. Socialism has never worked and never will. But AMLO was the best option the Mexicans had.

  10. He is a trump clone. Drain the swamp. Secret plans to fix Mexico. Claims to be a populist but opposes unions and favor Mexico City billionaires. Obrador is no socialist, he’s an opportunist who will create an oligarchy/cleptochracy.

Mexico needs someone from the provinces to clear out the Mexico City oligarchs and find new provincial leadership against the cartels.

  11. I don´t think this is crossiing swords, on the countraty, You dont want to have a poor country in your border because you will alwarys have inmigrants, besides you need a rich neighbor to encourage commerce, this is understood by Trump and Lopez Obrador.
We mexicans belong to México and americans to U.S.A, lets keep it that way, and have good relations, otherwise there always be conflicts.

  12. There is nothing new in AMLO's "economy" HE IS A COMMUNIST. Even less any thing GODLY. Every body hates him already. Only two weeks. Thank you America for Supporting Communism in Mexico. We will be sure to pay you back with a few million illegal COMMUNIST going across the border. And also thank you for the Mexican Revolution. The worst in the world. No viable economical model at all there. ONLY DETROY WELTH ! Thank you. The American left always willing to destroy countries in Latin America. We have a few of your anarchist and gang bangers attacking with violence our Supreme Court Right now. Thank you again.

  13. It's about time. Neoliberalism equals feodalism 3.0

IMO it's in Mexico's interest, that the Trump wall of shame is built soon, with the US paying for it !

  14. I live in México and im so happy that his our new President for so many reasons… He has lots of challenges but in 2 weeks His done way more that the other Presidents in 40 years… We are going to refine our own oil insted of buying oil to the US.. That alone is going to bring our economy up rapidly..
