A senior Israeli official is responding to criticism from President Biden and a US government report stating the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government “may be in jeopardy.” Speaking to the Times of Israel, the official said “those who elect the prime minister of Israel are the citizens of Israel and no one else“ and added “Israel is not a protectorate of the US but an independent and democratic country whose citizens are the ones who elect the government. We expect our friends to act to overthrow the terror regime of Hamas and not the elected government in Israel.” Aryeh Lightstone, who served as senior advisor to US Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman during the Trump administration, joined LiveNOW from FOX’s Josh Breslow to discuss that and the war in Gaza.
