In this Australian search for answers, Downunder Dan and Bill McIntosh embark on a search for Allan Bentley, a 63-year-old man who went missing in March 2021.
Allan Bentley, a reclusive individual, earned his living by collecting orchids from the bush and selling them for special occasions like weddings. He was last seen in Tea Gardens, where he had a catering business operating from his white Holden Combo van with the registration UQG-146.
During March 2021, the area experienced severe flooding, and it’s possible that Allan’s van got washed away during this time. Floodwaters in Australia can be extremely dangerous, and attempting to cross them can have fatal consequences. We urge everyone to exercise caution and avoid crossing floodwaters.
In our efforts to locate Allan Bentley, we explored various boat ramps and water bodies, starting at the bridge in Tea Gardens for any signs of Allan’s van.
Hidden by silt and brush, a submerged vehicle can easily evade detection, but we remain hopeful that our ongoing efforts will bring us closer to finding Allan.

Our thorough search of the quarries and sandpits revealed no traces of Allan’s van. The water’s clarity in Tea Gardens makes it unlikely for a submerged vehicle to go unnoticed. However, we remain vigilant and continue to leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of answers.
