5. Gov. Youngkin went in person to Arizona in October 2022 to do several campaign stops with Election Lie Megaphone Keri Lake. She's now running to represent Arizona in the Senate. Youngkin also attended campaign events for Main Gov. Paul LePage, another Election Lie Believer. So our Governor Youngkin thinks the election was legitimate and "people should accept the results and move on"….but he actively campaigns for people who believe and spread the lie, a lie that cost the American taxpayer billions and resulted in immediate and proximate deaths from the Jan. 6 Insurrection. The imminent Republican Shutdown of our Government is going to cause a lot of pain in Virginia, where many people work for either the federal government or the Military (Quantico, Norfolk – home base of all military aircraft carriers on the East Coast, and 14 Other bases). Independents and other folks without a foot squarely in one party or another aren't going to be impressed with the results of Republican leadership that can't even keep the government open. Youngkin may need to jump to something else.

13. The popularity of Trump is not transferable. This is true in this year's polling for the GOP presidential nomination, it's been true since 2018, when anyone who resembled Trump in any election, anywhere, was beaten. It's the reason that Democrats control two branches of the government and it's the reason that the GOP barely won the House in '22. If these donors think Republican voters are going to support Youngkin, all that's likely to happened is either that Trump voters won't vote in the general election, in '24, or that Trump voters are going to demand their own political party.
