Township official says three people have been killed in shootings in a suburban Philadelphia township, prompting authorities to warn residents to hunker down in their homes and forcing the cancellation of a St. Patrick’s Day parade and a children’s theme park. Middletown Township police said Saturday morning that there were “confirmed shootings” in neighboring Falls Township in Western Pennsylvania that resulted in “several gunshot victims.” The suspect is believed to be 26-year-old Andre Gordon.

See what happened was he accidentally stole a car he thought was his own. While parking in front of a house he was cleaning his gun when it accidentally went off and killed two people. He realized he was driving the wrong car, so he swapped it from a friendly stranger who gave him his car. Again, he kept driving and his impaired gun again randomly killed another man in Edgewood Lane. This poor young man was having such a bad day. But don't worry, this story has a happy ending. This young man will be free with no bail to post by tomorrow.
Let us pray that Andre receives the love and support needed for rehabilitation. Punishment will only make him worse. We need to address the root causes of crime, i.e. poverty, systemic racism and a unequal distribution of resources. It's time to finally address reparations for people like Andre. And when can we talk about commonsense gun Safety laws?
