The illegal and immoral sponsorship by the USA and its puppet states for the illegal self-proclamation and recognition of Juan Guaido as president of Venezuela has failed. Guiado has no political power in Venezuela.
Guaido is just a puppet of American corporate interest. Nobody would be surprised if he is arrested and jailed for conspiring with a foreign power to overthrow the legitimate government (though imperfect like any other sovereign state) of Nicolas Maduro.
It's now obvious that the US doesn't really care about international law, democracy, and human rights. We can no longer trust the US, especially under the presidency of Donald Trump. The US is now a rogue state.
Good job. Western mass media need to interview boths sides of this political conflict and do some fact-checking. Relaying only what some governments declare cannot suffice as journalism. And, from a moral and legal point of view, supporting positions that can clearly lead to a civil war is quite objectionable. There will be elections at least in 2020 by the way! They will certainly be supervised by the UN (even if the opposition were to refuse again the UN supervision). The Lima Group does not have the moral high-ground at all and act like international law no longer exist (which is a bit true sadly to be honest).
