My country (Canada) makes me nauseous. The power elite here seem to be determined to emulate the right wing lunatic fringe running our closest trading partner to the south.

It's unfortunate that Real News allowed an all too frequent inaccuracy to intrude. Concerning who can use the train, it's not that Israelis can, but Palestinians can't: 20% of Israeli citizens are Palestinian. Many observers forget that Jewish-Israelis are only 75% of the citizenry (5% are other).
However, it is true that the Palestinian man from Beit Surik can't travel on the train passing alongside his village. That land, & that of Beit Iksa, were stolen by the Jewish-Israeli supremacist state, then leased to the rail company. The villages were invaded in June 1967, & they are both only hundreds of metres from the 1949 armistice line. For most Canadian tourists this is all just scenery, a backdrop to an unforgettable holiday.
