  1. China has already given the re-assurance, hence Kim went ahead to meet with Trump in order to stop the devastating US sanction on NOKO. China doesn't want tension with the USA regarding NOKO's behavior, and wants to take away the opportunity for the USA to start a war against NOKO using false-flag pretext.

  2. It is downright hilarious to think DPRK will give up it's nukes in response to assurances from the US, the very country those nukes are intended to protect it from. The security guarantees have to come from a party DPRK can trust, like Russia and/or China. There is absolutely no reason for either of them to get dragged into a war with the US over DPRK. So no such assurance from Russia or China will be forthcoming until such time as the US completely normalises its relations with the DPRK and such an assurance carries little risk of having to he fulfilled.
