Can we finally put that nonsense right wing talking point about third party spoilers to bed already. Those people probably won't vote at all for either of the parties if there wasn't an alternative. That's only used by conservative establishment democrats to poo poo the idea of an alternative to voting for wall street and the big banks.

Maybe the New Democratic Party may wish to rethink its name. Maybe Niki Ashton should reflect on the Clinton and Gore "New" Democrats and the "Third Way" where their "Democratic Leadership Council" was directly funded by the Kochs and Wall Street resulting in the devastation of Social Security, NAFTA, and the Deregulation of Wall Street. Maybe Niki Ashton should consider the result of "New" Labor in Britain where Tony Blair was installed by the oligarch minions in the City of London resulting in the British devastation of Social Security and an assault on the working class through Neoliberalism as well as the British involvement in the Anglo-American imperial wars that killed a million Iraqis. Maybe Niki Ashton should consider removing the "New" from the name and considering an alternative? When it comes to naming progressive movements, the word "New" is a pejorative.

I really wish the NDP were led by someone like Niki who has integrity and substance. Elizabeth May is the only other leader in Canada with these qualities. The current NDP leader will be dumped after the next election. We need to choose more wisely next time.
I don't disagree with a lot of stances the federal NDP has taken but this woman represents the extremes the NDP seem to have embraced. Luckily the Alberta NDP recognize the foolishness and stupidity coming out of the NDP and essentially told them to shove it.

Niki Ashton brought me back to supporting the NDP party, I hoped she would win the leadership in 2017, but didn’t. Now Canadians have the choice of three neoliberals for prime minister which will eventually lead us to fascism as people are looking for an alternative to rewarding the 1% for their hard work while punishing the 99% slackers are rewarded with more austerity.
