Berlin Zoo mourns Ingo the Flamingo, believed to be its oldest resident at 75


Ingo the Flamingo, the oldest resident of the Berlin Zoo, died at approximately 75 years old, having lived there since the mid-1950s.Ingo arrived at the Berlin Zoo in 1955 from the Tierpark zoo in East Berlin, and the inscription on his ring was only discovered recently.He lived well beyond the roughly 30-year average life span of flamingos in the wild.The Berlin Zoo is mourning Ingo the Flamingo, its oldest resident, who died at what is believed to be at least 75 years of age and had lived there since the mid-1950s.His place of origin is unclear. The zoo announced Ingo’s death at an “imposing” age in social media posts on Wednesday.
