Arkansas jail tests ivermectin on detainees without their consent

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has filed a federal lawsuit against the Washington County Detention Center in Arkansas on behalf of inmates who say the jail’s medical staff, led by Dr. Robert Karas, prescribed and gave them ivermectin to treat COVID-19 without telling them what the drug actually was. (Ivermectin is an anti-parasitic drug that the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the American Pharmacists Association, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and others have repeatedly stated should not be used as a treatment for COVID-19.) As Edrick Floreal-Wooten, one of the inmates at Washington County Detention Center and a plaintiff in the federal lawsuit, recently told CBS News, “They said they were vitamins, steroids and antibiotics. We were running fevers, throwing up, diarrhea … and so we figured that they were here to help us. … We never knew that they were running experiments on us, giving us ivermectin. We never knew that.”

In this episode of Rattling the Bars, Charles Hopkins, better known as Mansa Musa, speaks about these revelations and the impending federal lawsuit with Gary Sullivan, legal director for the ACLU of Arkansas, and Zachary Crow, director of decARcerate, a grassroots coalition working to end mass incarceration in Arkansas with and on behalf of prisoners and their families.

  1. As far as not being approved for COVID use by the fda that is called “off label use” and quite a lot of our drugs have off label uses that are prescribed every day. For example a popular one is “the little blue pill for ED” was developed for heart problems.

  2. They got the huge benefit of taking Ivermectin only and they don't even know it because they were lied to by medical professionals

  3. These jokers (the mad doctor and law officials) were playing Dr. Frankenstein! People, we are not cows and oral Ivermectin has no antiviral properties. It is a dewormer and used for treating parasites in ANIMALS. Reading some of the comments below lead me to believe that some have lost their damn minds or are simply wicked!

  4. Lots of talking.. the only question I have is did it work? FDA approval for treatment means NOTHING to me, they are biased for big pharma. It's seeming like this channel is a Democrat shill channel right now. All that dewormer talk sounds just like MSM.

  5. He gave them 4 to 6 times the recommended dosage. He was experimenting and inmates got sick vomiting, stomach pain and diarrhea. That doctor needs to lose his license

  6. That "horse de-wormer" bullshit is straight up nazi rhetoric, demonizing as well as dehumanizing people by likening them to diseased animals who are gobbling up precious resources and a direct threat to a supposedly pure, superior society.

It is sickening to have seen this channel descend to such depths as to brazenly take part in such loathsome rhetoric, when this is an issue of bodily autonomy and informed consent.

Not fuckwitted, completely uninformed partisan hackery concerning a VERY well-tested and safe, Nobel Prize-winning drug, which has saved many, many lives around the world, with something like over a billion doses administered.

    Unsubscribed.

  7. So what are the side effects? My research on this med is that we have been using it to treat people for the last 40 years and is very safe. Talk about misinformation.

  8. What BS. Everybody is fighting and trying to get ivermectin because it helps a lot and have no bad effects, and here is some problem??? With experimentation on detainees?? What is with experimenting by various vaccines and other big pharma drugs? Problem is when used safe and efficient medicament.
India saved billion and half citizens with Ivermectin, they haven't none victims of "vaccines" because they used Ivermectin for whole population!

  9. Reading about people grabbing multi-figures monthly as income in investments even in this crazy days in the market, any pointers on how to make substantial progress in earnings? Would be appreciated…. I'll be in the comments

  10. You do know it is one of safest drugs in all of pharma, safer than tylenol, and that it is already a primary use drug for human lice and scabies. It has probably been used countless times in jails for outbreaks of scabies and lice.
There may be some debate on ivm's use against viral infection and inflamatory conditions, but to say there is no evidence for its efficacy on these issues is ludicrous. A simple 1 minute search of pubmed could tell anyone that.
    This story is a joke.
RNN, if you could at least have done your homework, you would have seen how ridiculous this video would make you look.
The fact that you are doing this story, yet you refuse to speak out against the coercion people are facing from vax mandates that are quite detrimental to marginalized communities, is very telling of your priorities.

  11. Real news ? Not so much. It’s peer reviewed and a Nobel prize winner. Should the inmates be informed of the minuscule chance of an adverse reaction and given a choice ? Yes. Same as the rest of us with the gene therapy.

  12. Ivermectin isn't experimental like the jab. And as RFK Jr. explained, all the authoritarian restrictions hinge on there being no alternative to the jab, and the countries that have had the most success against COVID use Ivermectin. What is this channel really? Why are so many supposed lefty channels enabling authoritarianism instead of freedom? VERY fishy stuff here.

  13. This is just a pathetic hit piece against ivermectin. I don't believe that these inmates were treated without consent. I live 10 minutes away from the jail and I'm familiar with this doctor. If I have COVID like symptoms I'll become a patient of his for a script of ivermectin.
