  1. The Republicans started this when they denied Merrit Garland a chance to be seated. Not even a hearing! A democratic majority could Add two justices or pass the law that FDR threatened to pass. The law would add a new justice to the court , once a justice reached the age of 70 and refused to retire. Currently that would add 3 judges to the SCOTUS. They could also pass a new law that would allow the President to force any judge above the age of 70 and 1/2 years of age to retire. That would be 2 conservative judges and 1 Liberal Judge That would be Samuel Ailto, Clarence Thomas and Stephen Breyer. They could also change the laws to make all Federal Judicial appointments 15 years and end lifetime appointments.

  2. It’s such a shame Harry Reid pulled “the nuclear option”. Then the Dem’s also engaged in the politics of personal destruction against so many Rep choices. Se here we are, the R’s will never again trust the D’s to treat them or their nominees as fairly as say Kagan was… as ye sow, so shall ye reap.

  3. That you even think it is acceptable to talk about Republican or Democrat Supreme Court justice, shows how entirely corrupt the system has become.
What should be being discussed, the track record of the applicant, how literally correct has their interpretation of the law been, how clearly politically neutral has their track record been. Those people are meant to become the high priests of the principle of the LETTER OF THE LAW.
Not for the US supreme court, oh no, they must be politicians, either Republican or Democrat and they must be able to fabricate fanciful interpretations of the law, express their feelings about what the original law makes intended when they wrote the law, the letter of the law, meh, who cares, who do you interpret laws differently for the rich and the poor if you adhere to the letter of the law, feelings, the feeling that come from lots of lots of campaign cash.
Your society has become so corrupt, it fails to see blatant corruption any more. Letter of the law people, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Letter_and_spirit_of_the_law, the letter of the law is the only way to guarantee uniform application of the law, the spirit of the law is a LIE a great big fat old corporate PR=B$ lie, the spirit in reality, the spirit is only willing to serve the rich with an extra special interpretation, those feelings about the intent, the make believe ones, the poor they get the letter, the rich get the spirit and that is the reality.

  4. Okay y'all the president not for the people for the state. Number two the Ghost Ranch around the flag in the courtroom already tells you we are in military Court but they use Maritime courts. We are not States we are territory thanks to the 14th Amendment which is misunderstood

  6. Thankfully at least we have some Democratic support for expansion of the court in the event Dems win the presidency and the senate if the Republicans continually move to illegally and immorally stack the court.

  7. The question becomes, what kind of justice would a Biden administration confirm? Let me guess….same as Trump.
    This is a non-issue.
    Cheers

  8. Great news! Wow, we never thought we'd ever see it! Both the Dems and the Republicans have finally screwed the working class once and for all. No more of this progressive bs, pie in the sky health care, and naive free education nonsense. What can we do? Sit back and take up the a$$ from the most dangerous coalition in human history. Nancy and Chuck are celebrating with ice cream. They've delivered the goods to there supporters and now the lord in his mysterious way has delivered the SCOTUS.

  9. Fix without playing with amendments:

‘Nothing in the nation’s founding documents says where judges have to serve. Congress could pass a law declaring that one Supreme Court justice will be nominated every two years; at the end of an 18-year term, he or she would remain on the federal bench but would be rotated to a lower court, making way for a replacement.’

Don’t like 18 year terms? Shorten it to whatever.

Or, (b)pack the court, (c)fight to change an amendment, or (d)ratify a new constitution, or (e) something else. Just don’t let it go.

  10. Thanks to the privileged edgelords of the socialist left who wrote in Harambe for shits and giggles in 2016.

  11. The dems don’t give a shit. They are basically republican. They have sold us down the river since Clinton. Don’t kid yourself. It’s depressing.

  12. The biggest voting bloc in America are the people who don't vote. The next biggest is independents. We already have minority rule no matter which party is in power

  13. The Dems have been resting for decades while the oligarchs mobilized the GOP to played a long game. This is the result. Only the Progressives are willing to fight back. It's a wonder the corporate Dems have yet to figure out a strategy.
